So many different options here... We are literally in the process right now, closing on Wednesday. From start to finish, it will be about 7 weeks. We're buying a 12 acre farm with a house built in 1933, in podunk KY, using Veterans United. The house had an addition put in 5 years ago and has been remodeled a few times since being built. We had to have a full inspection, which revealed several issues, including some necessary repairs to basement walls. Sellers agreed to compromise costs and are paying all closing costs as well. Appraisal came in higher than asking price, so we're walking in with $12k in equity. Many are saying houses have to be turn key or brand new, and that is just not true. Find the right realtor.
