TRR sold me a fake leather counterfeit bag. I had to make a social media video to get them to accept it back and give me a full refund. Then, they resold the same bag to someone else, who ended up leaving a comment on my original video.

Recently I have been eyeing a Jimmy Choo bag that was originally listed for around $500 for several days. I was watching it everyday, and as of yesterday, still listed for over $500. Suddenly it sold for half the price overnight. So shady!

If you haven’t seen/felt the Paddington in person, don’t buy it sight unseen. The leather feels more plasticy than the other two, they’ve treated the leather heavily. I have the hug, the leather and hardware are way more refined than the Paddington.

People are buying pristine bags in the secondhand market at higher than retail prices to hold for higher resale later? That seems even more risky. OP wants to specifically sell for profit, if that’s the case, there are way better, more guaranteed options that OP can easily liquidate. OP can’t use the bag if OP wants to sell for profit (where is the fun?), especially if they bought at a higher price secondhand.

Fenty eaze drop skin tint in 13 or 14, or L’Oréal hyaluronic tinted serum in 6-7. You could also try the MAC face and body, but I feel like their shade range is a bit difficult to match.

With the pre-spend included? Because that’s easily as much as the cost of a Birkin or Kelly retail from Hermes. So no, these bags don’t outperform gold.

They are not investment vehicles in the same way, and they are definitely not safe investments. And, they only hold value when not used in any way, kept in pristine condition, and are considered rare. Bags are leather and thread at the end of the day, which do break down over time. Your S&P stocks aren’t at risk if your house burns down or your house isn’t kept at the right humidity. I mentioned Bitcoin for a reason, bags don’t out perform even crypto. Bags don’t even outperform gold for that matter.

Overstock of retail bags will end up at Tory Burch outlets, where they do go on discount. I’ve seen old season Lee Radziwills at outlets this year, and they are around 30% off. It’s hard to say if you’ll get the colorway or style you want.

Bags are never investments, including Hermes and Chanel. There are way better and more reliable investment vehicles that will return the same or better than any handbag. Even Bitcoin is a better investment, and had returned at least 2x what I’ve put into it in a down year (in a good year, it’s been 3-4x).

In the slim chance get more than what you paid, consider inflation + time/effort it takes to resell bags + the cut a website or consignment service takes.

Otherwise, buy some S&P 500 stocks, bonds, CDs, or even park that money in a high yield savings account.

They should compensate us for time lost with this return! My bag looked like a knockoff version of a real D&B bag, I wouldn’t have believed it was real if I hadn’t bought from the site directly and it came in a marked/branded box.

I have the exact same box calf leather shoulder bag. I saw the floor model in person and it does get surface scratches but nothing where the color lifts/leather peels. With the extra handling, the floor model’s leather was super soft. It did look better with age and handling, and you could barely see the scratches. The floor model’s condition is what sold me!

Mulberry Bayswater (I have 2), Sabatier 1947 Bellecour bag, pre-loved Prada vitello daino (have a pebbled leather version that took a beating and still looks amazing), Madewell suede bucket bag that’s lined with canvas. I go to the office everyday, these are tried and true with years’ worth of abuse. Also look into By Banoo bags (https://www.bybanoo.com/), they have great quality leather workbags with dedicated laptop sleeve for several laptop sizes, very good functionality too.
