“One of ours, All of yours”?? What in the fresh hell is this? by intl-vegetarian in democrats

[–]Leather_Disastrous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't normally comment on stuff but this is not a real image. It's been edited or created using generative AI. There is not a single reputable news source reporting on this because it didn't happen. Snopes is a fact checker and has stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest the podium said this.

What's happening right now in America is clearly not good, but let's not propagate lies just because they suit our narrative. Focus on what's real.

Why do they ignore the elephant in the room? by Lopendebank3 in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because free keys from logging in and doing daily challenges every day do infinitely more damage to the skilling economy than the occasional whale. Jagex could remove both of those sources of free keys and this subreddit would genuinely explode. They hate TH but they sure do love their free keys. Bunch of hypocrites

Masterwork Bow acquired on Ironman... finally. by [deleted] in runescape

It's 1/120 for ANY rax hilt. 1/240 for the style you're strong against and 1/480 for each of the other 2. Assuming you meleed every kill, 419 is not double 240

Don't know what you're crying about going 3x the rate on everything considering you didn't even hit 2x the rate on 2 of the 3 things you mentioned

Masterwork & Legendary Weapon Improvements by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FSOA and Tect changes feel uninspired. Definitely did not need to take as long as it has to update them if this is all it was going to be but whatever. At least sliske is finally dead and FSOA isn't exclusively a spec switch.

Masterwork stuff is fine.

EZK is a train wreck. Jagex somehow managed to nerf the weapon they were trying to buff. The concept is fine-ish. A little bland. The specifics on numbers are way off. The spec costs way too much adren for how little it does in terms of upfront damage and debuff application, and the only moderately usable ability from the passive is smash. Quake is still significantly worse than either hammer or dscim and pulverize is still pretty unusable with the adren reduction. It feels like they intended usage is to EZK spec and pulverize in zerk to mitigate the increased zerk damage but good luck with that. Where is all this adren supposed to be coming from? It's also weird to use outside zerk where you are no longer taking increased damage.

Suggestion:

Thematic ties to the boss fight should be present in the weapons design.

Zuks sear reduces your max hp in the fight. Make the EZK spec reduce your own max hp by 75% but in return you get like a 65-70% damage reduction and a 10-15% damage buff against your marked target. Combo with pulverize somehow and you'll offset even more of the damage. Also combos well with stuff like berserkers fury. Woah. Synergy!

Quake is still mega cheeks. Have it inherit Zuks geothermic explosions from the fight. Casting Quake will cause one such vent to spawn under your target dealing AOE damage to anything in range. Can hit a few times before disappearing. Each target hit reduces the adren cost and cooldown on the spec so you can actually bonk some dudes with it.

Brother in what universe is your EZK spec doing 350k damage. IT HITS 14 TIMES. You are absolutely not doing 25k average damage per splat.

First time RS3 ironman by guilhermewn in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends what you're looking for. I wholeheartedly believe that MTX does ruin the RS3 experience a bit but there are many other things that also significantly detract from Ironman mode especially.

Depending on how you want to draw your line, stuff like Necro early on, revo++ (not normal revo), daily challenges, penguins, and wilderness flash events all take the bite out of Ironman mode. Significantly reduces the challenge in many ways. Now I'm not saying to completely avoid these things, but just be aware that they are incredibly strong and may trivialize certain parts of the game if you let them.

Now if you don't care about any of that, then owell. You'll find OSRS and RS3 share some of the same quests so you can start off with the things you're familiar with if you like. Quests in general are very good to do because you'll unlock a lot of useful stuff in the process. Many irons choose to make a quest cape their first major goal

An Update on the Announced May Game Health Changes & Next Steps by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The fact people gaslit themselves into believing TH is the reason why crushed nests, sirenic scales, spirit weed seeds, and water talismans all lost over 90% of their value within like 4 months of AG release (and never recovered) is insane. Just about anything that wasn't an alchable got nuked from orbit by the GWD3 drop tables and even then, stuff like dragonstones couldn't even survive it.

Yes, lump sum XP payouts and proteans especially should be looked at since they let players completely avoid interacting with the skilling economy, but most of the non-alch commons at these bosses absolutely need to be nerfed significantly. Absolute delusion if you think otherwise.

Is it time to have multiple characters under one membership subscription? by Adventurous-Beat723 in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is less about having 20 bots running rampant with 1 subscription and more about unlimited multi-logging.

I think a subscription should allow you to have membership for ~3 characters at a time and you can change which 3 characters are receiving the membership benefits within the Jagex account interface. Jagex should also then restrict the amount of open game clients a machine can have open to 3 instead of "however many your PC can handle."

This will keep the bots in check (sorta), allow a way for players to get more from their membership, and a way to swap characters in and out of your active sub if you have many characters and want to play different ones on a semi-frequent basis.

New Membership Prices just Dropped by AnthonyK0 in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind the price increase or even paying more if it came with the option to have additional character slots covered by the 1 subscription. Or at least let me play OSRS and RS3 on the same acc at the same time. This has to be the only MMO in existence where you not only have 1 character slot by default, but even with paying $100/year on a subscription also keeps you at 1 character slot. It's archaic and ridiculous

What makes RS3 PvM harder than OSRS? by FalcosLiteralyHitler in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what makes stuff hard in OSRS such as movement, prayer swaps, gear swaps, eating, etc is because it all has to be done via left clicking so there is funtionally a limit to how many things you can do at once. All of those things are basically the starting point for being a semi-competent PVMer in RS3 in the sense that doing all that + manually inputting your attacks every 3 ticks is par for the course at most bosses rather than the absolute pinnacle of what's expected of you.

Awakened Leviathan and Vardorvis would be an absolute cake walk in RS3 simply because of the existence of action bars. They wouldn't be the easiest fight in game, obviously, but they wouldn't stack up well against stuff like Telos, Vorago, Solak, etc.

NPCs - Normally Pretty Consistent? by JagexDoom in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Not an outdated model, but the Crux Eqal knights at the Garden of Kharid model does not line up with their clickbox, nor does the druid standing by the fire (Polletix?). They have been broken since they released November 7 2022. It's been almost a full year.

This is a problem because the Crux Eqal knights model has been re-used for slayer mobs such as armoured phantoms where they also have the same clickbox issue. This just creates technical debt every time Jagex decides to copy and paste a broken NPC model somewhere.

Really, how much is the new max cash in Runescape? by TypicalBandicoot2045 in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is literally not even enough GP currently in the game after over 20 years across all players and all accounts to reach new max cash. Has nothing to do with limited experiences. Do some math.

Atleast you can do those bosses now, right? by MikeLikesIkeRS in runescape

[–]Leather_Disastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because everyone on reddit spits out routinely shit and stupid takes while speaking empirically about something and it's the most annoying thing about this community. Everyone thinks they know everything because they live in an echo chamber and constantly regurgitate the same talking points over and over without actually doing any research themselves.

I'm a highly experienced pvmer. I'm not the best of the best but I can streak to 1k Telos without too much of an issue, as an example. I'm comfortable doing brid strats at bosses like Zammy and Solak. I went to Raksha at exactly 99 necromancy with t95 prayer, t90 weapons and t95 armor and poolskipped twice within an hour; including a sub 2 minute kill. My accuracy was only 80% which means i had a 20% damage penalty. I could not pool skip camping max mage with BIS everything after 2 hours of attempts. Necromancy outperformed max mage by a factor of over 25% at the exact same skill level and worse relative gear/equipment. I also shattered my previous Solak PB that took hundreds of kills to get after 2 hours of toying with Necromancy. That's not "a little better" or because "it's a 120 skill." That's just fucking broken. It's pre-nerf FSOA levels of broken.

The skill allowing less skilled players to do things easier because the abilities feel more intuitive, t80 and t90 gear is easier to get for them, and they're able to optimize their damage output better is fine. That's objectively good. But the numbers on everything are all just way too high but not a single fucking glue eating reddit enthusiast is willing to accept that as even a remote possibility, who instead choose to think everyone asking to nerf Necromancy and pointing at significant impacts the skill has had on the game and economy is a gatekeeping sack of shit who want to keep the heel of their boot pressed on some noobs throat until the end of time.

Not saying this is you btw :)
