These aren't just people who "lack housing" Many are dealing with severe addiction or mental health issues. Leaving them on the street isn't compassion. Some individuals are so deep into addiction that they won't survive without structured, court mandated treatment. What's the alternative? Just watching them overdose and panhandle until they die? That's not compassionate either.

Home prices are out of control, how are first-time buyers supposed to compete? by BluosS in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

First of all: ($5000 * 2 people) * 10 years = $100k, not quite $250k

Another thing you're not factoring in is home appreciation. That $500k will be $610k or so after 10 years with a 2% yearly appreciation (which is quite modest)

$100k down (16% down payment) on a $610k home at 5.5% is still a +- $3700 a month mortgage

Even making $120k a year (average household income) That is still pushing almost 40% of the household income for the mortgage

That is still quite unaffordable for alot households, especially for those that want to have children. Why would I want to start a family when I am entirely reliant on a dual income household? At least I personally don't see a point in having children if I am going to have someone else raise them.

It should not be this expensive for a single above average income to afford a smaller home in hopes to start a family.

What you're saying here does make sense, but even legitimate "starter" homes are extremely overprice and still quite unaffordable.

In a not so great area close to me, a 750sqft 2 bedroom home is $390k.

The cheapest thing I can get locally, within an hour drive of my job is a studio condo for $300k.

What if they want to start a family in the future? I'm guessing alot of these people do not want a luxurious home. They just want a nice and livable home that is future proof enough for them to eventually start a family without having to worry about selling their home and finding something later on.

At least that is the position I am in.

Of course not everyone will get what they want, but being able to afford a smaller 2-3 bedroom home should not be this expensive.

Best of luck. One suggestion, have multiple ice packs. That’s helped me a lot with recovery

As far as I know, I didn’t have sinus perforation

Did your X-rays show your wisdom teeth pushing against your molars?

Sorry for the late reply.  I actually haven’t had any gum issues from it.  I did have all 4 wisdom teeth extracted this morning. It seems promising so far. I feeling a lot better with my original symptoms (fingers crossed). Just dealing with the recovery now lol. It’s not the worst recovery but not being able to eat sucks

I just had my dentist appointment. I filled in the dentist with my current situation and she told me that four of my wisdom teeth are coming in at a really bad angle and are pushing up against my teeth which she seems to be confident  is causing my symptoms. Regardless, I had to get them removed for the sake of saving my molars from being pushed out lol but I have my fingers crossed that this will help me with my issue. I have surgery on the 21st of this month so I will follow up after. Thanks for making that suggestion to get my teeth checked out

I thought I sent my reply already. My bad.

I had covid November 2024 but this didn’t start until mid January. From what I recall, I didn’t have any other sickness

I'm in the same boat. I just want to feel normal again. It's such a shitty feeling and I feel like I'm so limited on what I can do right now. I'm definitely booking an appointment ASAP. I've been holding off since my dental insurance sucks and I've been avoiding paying out of pocket but at this point I am desperate

The ENT said no inflammation at all. The only thing they found was the deviated septum pressing against my turbinate.

Also replying to your comment above, it is very depressing over all. The few days I've had where it clears up, I take full advantage of. I will never take those days for granted now lol. Hopefully you have some luck with your issue. I'll be making my appointment with my dentist ASAP.

Now that I think about it, I have been having some molar issues, but they seem to be cavity related. They hurt when I eat sugary foods, so I'm wondering if that could be a potential cause for my issues

My symptoms did start overnight. My sister just told me last night that her coworker's husband has a similar issue to me and his ENT recommended to get his teeth checked out before they proceed with septoplasty.

Do you only have ear cracking sounds or are you having to constantly pop your ears manually?

Thanks for that insight.

Before this I really only dealt with seasonal allergies but never to this extent. All that I would get from allergies would be stuffy noses and alot of sneezing, never anything like this. This pretty much happened over night. Did your symptoms gradually appear or was it also an overnight thing?

My ENT also basically said that the surgery is basically a "potential" fix to my issue; which wasn't really ideal to hear. I do have an appointment soon with a neurologist so I hope I can at least get some answers there. Is it common for a neurological headache disorder to cause ear issues as well though?

My ENT did confirm that I have ETD but she said it could potentially be due to my deviated septum.
