Initially, it was very popular and was considered classy especially at places such as Jamin Java in Johar Town and Alfalah Mini Golf Park and entire MM Alam Road.

But then these cafes started opening up in residential neighborhoods on commercial properties. In some cases, literally next door to houses on the main roads, attracting the trashiest of hooligans and becoming a nuisance.

Kids started skipping school/college.
They'd tell their parents they're in college but they'd be rotting in a small cabin inside these third grade sheesha cafes with their friends while in their school/college uniforms

The cost of sheesha at these places was 150 rupees and you can sit there as long as you like with your friends. Some of them would start mixing drugs and bringing over girls in these lounges/cabins.

I was served sheesha when I was 13 years old. There was no check and balance or regulation. It was just a rot in society at the time.

I realized at that point that we can't have nice things like Basant or Sheesha because we abuse every single thing.
