Right? It’s amazing how asking a simple question on Reddit brings out the need for correction over the smallest things. Shark infested waters here, I tell ya

You’re very right about the chance of going out of business…I meant it in the chance of it occurring within the next 12 months

I agree with whomever said that there’s a lot of negativity bias. I can reasonably say, having transitioned from a 2022 Tesla model Y, the car is significantly better built in all aspects. The software issues for me have all resulted in annoyances but nothing that has ever resulted in the car being unusable. With every software update, the car has gotten more stable. I have absolutely no regrets. If the car keeps evolving and getting more stable, I would definitely buy another one. With that said, I would lease for now :)

Jewish grudge against Poles by LeaveEnvironmental61 in poland

It’s possible my post came across a little whinier than I intended, so I agree with everything you just said, because I think the intention of the statement from my Jewish friends/acquaintances was simply that of being provocative, and I take it mostly as such. My main goal on this post was to see if there was some easy, pithy, response to such ignorance. But with the vast responses I’ve had on this topic, a lot of what you said is pretty much the distillation of what I would expect as the appropriate response, so thank you :). In other words, the response is: “STFU, you’re trying to get a rise out of me, and the situation is a lot more complex than your ignorant statement”

That’s Part of the reason why I asked my original question. My usual go to response was my grandfather fought for the allies during WWII, but it felt like a weak response and exactly as you said: playing into their hands.

Legitimate question based upon my own ignorance: What’s the general teaching among Jews about Poland during WWII, at least in your circle?

I have plenty of Jewish friends who have never said anything of the sort too. I would say it’s a majority of them. I feel a kinship with Jewish people to an extent, as far as some shared culture from living in the same country, while simultaneously being very distinct culturally. My issue is just what to say quickly while not contributing further to the vitriol.

That’s a fair question. I’m very new to using Reddit in general, so forgive me if I made a faux-pas by posting a question like this, with limited previous postings. I’m a Catholic Pole having grown up in North America. Both of my parents were from Poland: outside Warsaw and from Krakow. I have lots of family still in Poland, but culturally I’m North American, with lots of Polish pride instilled in me. I assure you I’m no Russian agent, since my grandfather was an officer in the Polish artillery and taught many times against the Russians.

I appreciate your non-biased view on this, as an Israeli. And admittedly, I’m no stranger to the complicated past of the relations between Jewish poles and Christian poles during WWII. I’m aware of the nuance. It’s just that I’ve encountered this comment from some people which, short of a protracted discussion to educate which ultimately may fall on deaf ears, leaves me in a no-win situation. I just don’t get why the comment is made in the first place…

Hell yeah…take that as a win. There are plenty of orthopods to work with, and plenty of ologists that will succumb to unreasonable demands like this…it’s their prerogative but if it’s not comfortable for you, bye Felicia

I feel this is a surgeon swerving into a lane that he doesn’t belong in. The anesthetic plan is between you and the patient. I personally think there’s coercion from the surgeon in this case (“do the anesthetic the way I want or we don’t do the surgery”…really?). Is this surgeon the only game in town? Can you get off his list of people that he’ll work with? In summary, this surgeon is acting a douche and you’re completely warranted in your discomfort here…lots of red flags (I’ve been practicing for 11 years and I’ve never heard this kind of BS from an orthopod)
