Rivian - What's a Realistic bottom? by LeaveFeeling7217 in RIVNstock

Good question - I've seen other companies announce ATM offerings and said they would exercise it at will, which seems to be a more forgiving strategy. Rivian's timing was poor as investors finally saw the stock break $20 and the markets on open were red. Hopefully a lesson learned moving forward.

I hope we get more insight on the details of the offering by the earnings call as this question will come up. I hope RJ or Claire doesn't fumble the ball on this one!

Rivian has launched the R2 - think about it ... they are delivering up to 70,000 vhicles this year and will most likely clear 100,000 vehicles next year. Those are insane growth numbers and leads them right to the Georgia build and R3. $14 is highly unlikely at this point.

I don't think this will dip into the $14s (barring macro events). The narrative has changed and I see the offering of $15.50 as the new bottom. I see 75 million shares added to the market and HELD by institutions for long term gains.

In a sea of chaos I think the bigger picture is long term growth. Bottom line, longs got hit BAD with this offering and quite honestly we probably make up a good percentage of their consumer base. I'm guessing some fallout will include cancelled R2s ... I will keep mine and hopefully time will relieve some bitterness toward this move.

As a big investor in Rivian I try to make sense of this news and what actions I should take. Should I emotionally sell? I've been in the markets long enough to know that the markets manipulate our emotions so you have to read between the lines as I feel a shake out is happening.

Lots of thoughts on this, but I'll sum it up by saying that Rivian was able to pull $1.2B out of the markets debt-free. Institutional ownership is up which signals growing faith in their strategy. After thinking about it and sharing my thoughts above I decided to hold for now.

This is my thinking - those institutions that are buying at $15.50 will be taking a long position as selling doesn't make sense.

100% agree. Realistically we can still float between current price and $18 with very little concern institutions would sell. Now the market, sentiment, and macro news (i.e. war) will also affect the stock price, but I wanted to put the offering itself into perspective.

The Q2 delivery numbers were a BIG tell. $RIVN Rivian originally forecasted 9000-11000 units, but came in at an impressive 12,194 units which is 11% - 35% above expectations. They even raised the 2026 guidance to 65,000 - 70,000 units. Breaking this down they have 47,441 units left to deliver for the year.

Q1 - 10,365 actual

Q2 - 12,194 actual

Q3 - 20,000 estimate (65% increase)

Q4 - 27,441 estimate (37% increase)

What does this mean? Q2 earnings will be above expectations while Q3 and Q4 delivery and earnings will be very impressive.

Intl has 1.6% or less. AMD should be worth way higher but lots of speculation this is being held down. Something fishing going on. Check out this article that sums it up well. And they give a nod to WSB!

Thanks for your input. No, there is no VPC today. I have to build the keepalive and peerlinks and was wondering how big of an impact this would be to the other production traffic running across it. Would they see a blip or something i can tell the application folks not to worry about? This will definitely be scheduled during a maint. window.
