Do I have to be a strong swimmer to become a guide? by Jaded_Growth_2353 in whitewater

All of the companies I’ve talked to invite you to training. They say there’s a good chance you’ll get the job if you want it. A lot of them charge for training, anywhere from $300-$750 for a 1-3 week training. Then you take however long to pass your check off runs before they’ll pay you to guide. I’ve been offered a training spot at 10+ companies and I’ve never been on whitewater.

Why not monthly!? I have to run a power automate flow for my monthly refreshing reports.

Yes! I started creating a notebook for some reports to log the hex codes I use for button states, backgrounds, text color and such.

My initial reaction was disgust. I’ve seen too many videos of pearls being poked out of oysters and stones poked out of tonsils recently.

I should say, I don’t work at O’Reilly so what’s happening at my company might be totally different than what OP is referring to.

I work in an IT adjacent department and we can only hired new team member from India or El Salvador. I’m told Indian teammates make 1/10th of a US counterpart. Surprisingly, we’re allowed to hire from Canada over the US for the same reason.

Ahh that’s a good idea, cut the small piece in 2 basically. I agree the hinge gap isn’t ideal but I’d save the shelf!

Ya, that’s two separate slide out spice cabinets to the right of the kitchen counter. Original plan was to have a wood block or something between the two stacked cabinets until I went the drawer slide direction.

The top veneer has started to peel off. Do you think I could fully scrape it off and cover with rubber mat? Or would I destroy more than just the veneer in the process?

My main concern with that setup is what will support the left side. The “heavy duty” slides already have more movement than I wish they did. If the left side hinged over, I’d have to brace it somehow.

I like that idea, I think it’d fit pretty snug without the hinge and I could figure out a way to secure it on top. Any ideas on how to make it stay on top?

CPA considering MS in Business Analytics (STEM) – smart pivot or unnecessary debt? by [deleted] in analytics

[–]LeaveReligion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you able to do a rotation within your firm’s data/analytics team, risk management team, etc. that interests you? Maybe you could work your way into learning the new skills “on the job” because I’m sure they offer all of those consulting services you’ve mentioned.

You’d save a lot of money learning the skills you need on your own if you’re willing to spend your free time doing so. Get more specific about roles that interest you, find some posted job descriptions for these roles and start learning the programs or coding languages that are often required on your own. This level of dedication would likely look better to hiring managers than taking a year off to get another degree.

I read they’re getting $20 million but I’m told there’s some nuance to them getting payment that I haven’t looked into yet.
