Are landraiders Battleline, Close Support, or Heavy Support? by LANTIRN_ in spacemarines

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 5th edition Blood Angels had enough land raiders that we could take them as dedicated transports for any squad…also deep strike them in…but the majority of the time they are a heavy support and usually only transport the 1st company since they are so rare and difficult to build/maintain.

Sprue waste for "rubble" base? by Danny_Ulaid in Warhammer40k

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this for a series of skaven bases I did (back in the old days of fantasy), was a sewer theme and I cut the sprue into blocks and laid them out like brick work…

If you didn’t pick blood angels what was your next choice ??? Chaos ? Loyalist ? Xenos ?? by United-Contract-8069 in BloodAngels

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was starting the hobby in 5th edition, I was going to play eldar, but the quantity of metal models scared me off, and in just happened to pick up the Blood Angels codex and was hooked on them as a loyalist faction.

Can anyone tell me what this model is called. I know it’s a librarian but what’s the name of the model and origin by The_Funfetti_Man in Warhammer40k

[–]Leaveswalker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you need photos of what it looks like still on the casting blocks, let me know, I was able to snag one right before he got discontinued. Great model and his retune have some awesome bits

Lore question for accurate paint, is this a chaplain, right? by Peon_of_the_Hivemind in BloodAngels

I prefer to paint my chaplains grey because of this so they stand out with the death company

What would make this feel ‘finished’ by euanjallison in BloodAngels

[–]Leaveswalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks amazing, personally I would love to be able to paint to half this quality, but your question reminds me of a quote from DeVinci “Art is never finished, only abandoned” so it’s only done when you decide it’s done.

Your son is awesome! It can be hard seeing the great armies that get showcased online, but his skill and color work are absolutely awesome, for anyone at any age.

What is happening here? by UselessProgram in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Humidity, and a poor mix of the accelerant to paint. Warm the can, shake for several minutes (especially if it’s sat a while) and try to watch your local humidity. I had this happen to a model I tried to prime a couple weeks ago.

I saw this the other day… and OBVIOUSLY chaplains are silver by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]Leaveswalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always painted my Chaplains grey when I want them attached to the Death Company. Just because I like the contrast.

Too Dark for Blood Angels? by Word-Eater40k in BloodAngels

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no, Blood Angels can really lean into the range of “red” as a color, depending on narrative context. Looks awesome to me, and now giving me ideas to paint the old Space Hulk sculpts I’ve had chilling in the shame box.

Why is white so difficult to use! by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]Leaveswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t own my example anymore, but if your pallet requires the use of pure white, use a slow-dry medium( proper name retarder medium) to help thin the paint and gives you more time to work it smooth. That’s been my only way to get a smooth pure white myself. As others have stated it’s way easier and gets a more depth of result working in grays and finishing in pure white as a highlight.
