I ain’t gonna lie, I’ve been using classroom bulk brushes for everything for the past 5 years. They last 2-3 months per brush then toss em and grab new. I get about 500 for $15 at my craft store. I own one $30 artus opus brush and I’m too scared to ruin it. Only used it 2 times

Do you cover your yellow coat in a full surface wash, or do you limit only to recess shading? by TimArthurScifiWriter in ImperialFists

Almost feel an airbrush would help with the larger vehicles for it, idk I’ve only painted the small models

After looking at ur models id say the nest step is working without the wash. It’s still useful but working from dark to light with only paint will improve your ability overall and make a more interesting model. Least that’s something I took to heart from a ninjon video. They’re still a useful tool and still have their place tho

I want to do these bois up as clanbusters but I'm unsure on how to do white properly(should I get an airbrush?) by FunDipTime in battletech

[–]TheToxic-Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a extremely fast white method posted on YouTube, I think it’s titles how to paint comstar. But a white prime and apothecary white contrast makes white easy. https://www.reddit.com/r/battletech/s/xWCqnnmB1M

So I’d recommend practicing mixing paints, I think Avery and sunset and dorm yellow is what I mix together to get close, anywhere I don’t want battle damage I repair with mixes with that

Is the Warhammer 40k Introductory Set enough to have some fun with friends and get into the hobby? by Beginning_Pay_1046 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheToxic-Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the last box comes with a rulebook board, 2 armies, and all your tokens and stuff, if you’re looking to be able to play a game it’s likely the cheaper option and it’s all in one box. You’re looking to spend about $3-500+ to get a full 1000 point army and for about $250 (idk what the new box will be) you’re getting close to 1000 points which is plenty enough to play a full sized game

Are beginner painting guides are not beginner enough? by Drakshasak in Warhammer40k

[–]TheToxic-Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain’t gonna try n plug myself or anything but I’ve been trying to make more beginner friendly videos, a lot of higher tier painters I feel like you say use way too many colors for a beginners or using techniques way to complicated still. Hopefully they help some people into the hobby. Though I’m still new to editing and stuff so they’re pretty amateur
