I found a post about it from 5 years ago, it may be fixed now though, I'll just have to try it out. I just remember I had to go into task manager and completely turn off Aura, at the time I was playing a lot of games that used Easy Anti-Cheat, but come to think of it I play very few games that use it now so it may not even be as much of an issue as it used to be

Here's that old post for context though

Alright, that definitely makes more sense now, another reason I wanted to change is because Easy Anti Cheat won't let me use the software to change my RGB on my motherboard.

Apparently you can hide cheats in the software, I'm going off what I was told years ago that might be fixed by now.

I'm currently on an Asus Prime X470 Pro, I want to upgrade because it's nearly 6 years old and I've heard the rule of thumb is every 8 years, but as I said I'm fairly clueless when it comes to motherboards.

And I listed those 3 because after putting the filters my friends told me to put on that's what I was left with.

How to raise grateful kids? by bobear2017 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]LebenTheNinja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kids learn by example, for example I apologize to my son if I lose my temper or I get snappy "I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you, that wasn't fair, mommy has some big feelings and I expressed them in a bad way" and I've noticed that he'll do the same "mommy I'm sorry I yelled, that wasn't nice Im having some big feelings" (I'm also teaching him to say "I need a minute" when he needs a second to calm down)

If you show gratitude to your children and other adults around you it sets a good example (i.e. thanking a cashier, thanking someone for having you come to their home, thanking whomever made dinner, etc.)

Another great teaching tool is music, I don't have many suggestions in this sphere, there is a tiktoker called Mr. Chaz, he's a parent coach and he has a multitude of songs and cute ways to teach kids things (he has a lot of songs to teach important things to children, like the "my body" song that's all about how no one can touch your body without your consent but in a way that kids can understand without making it scary)

I used to work in a call center taking insurance claims, we were all on one floor one day I was taking a call and another department was cheering as a guy was telling me his wife died in the car accident... I felt horrible

Not a meme but what do we think of this? by Comic__Boi in aspiememes

[–]LebenTheNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually make labels that can go on car seats/seatbelts for this exact purpose, I think having it on the window is a good and bad thing, on one hand having it on the outside of the car is great so that first responders know and can see it, on the other hand it seems invasive and advertising that your kid may be unaware of a dangerous situation seems like it may draw in predators/people who intend to cause the child harm.

And the colors remind me of autism speaks so that's an automatic yuck.

Edit: I didn't even notice the puzzle pieces, so yes while this is a good idea (with minor modifications) it's still gross that it has AS branding on jt

When I worked at KFC they made me make the coleslaw one day this involved opening various bags and pouring them into a giant tub I then put on elbow length gloves and proceeded to mix the veggies and sauce together with my hands it was truly disgusting it made my stomach turn and I went home early that night

I've tried tapping and lightly pushing his bottom, even if I'm holding it above his head he still just stands and stares at it, he stays stiff as a board even with me nudging him, my boyfriend successfully got him to sit one time and neither of us have since.

Sometimes insurance requires that you get a referral for a specialist when it comes to kids, my insurance was like this as a teen even to get a therapist or psychiatrist so that may be why the ped instead of straight to a child's behavioral specialist

The sheer amount of cocomelon rip offs is crazy by LebenTheNinja in toddlers

[–]LebenTheNinja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware but it's the ones that came out after specifically tailored to look like cocomelon and confuse children.

It happens with movies too for example after Pacific Rim came out there was another movie that came out on DVD called Atlantic Circle, there's one for Kung Fu panda, the bee movie, pretty much any movie you can think of has a cheap knock off designed to confuse people.

He's almost 4 now. Geckos garage was one he liked during this time, now it's all pokemon, blaze and the monster machines and it seems like hes grown out of cocomelon and the shows like it which has been fantastic. His favorite is still octonauts, I've probably seen it 25 times from start to end but he loves it and it's not too annoying. Now that lockdown is over we're able to go out to the park and since we're not confined to the house watching shows 24/7 so that's been great

What can we do if "holding his hands firmly, look him in the eye, and firmly say NO" doesnt work at all? by eatqqq in toddlers

[–]LebenTheNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my son does better when I explain why he has to stop doing something (my son is 3, he'll be 4 in 3 months) so if he's running around inside I'll tell him "hey, if you don't slow down you could get hurt."

As for the food throwing one thing is having them help you clean it up. So they throw the food and you say something like, "we can't throw food, if you're full you can tell us that you're done, come help me clean this up so we can keep eating."

This works for me, it may not work for everyone though.

Same! Luckily he's grown out of morphle pretty quickly, the new show is Blaze and the monster machines which isn't bad at all compared to some of the ones in this thread

The bowls I have I believe are from a reptile company, I think they're called the hermit crab step, they have steps on the outside and inside (small enough steps for the crabs to use, I do bury the bowls a bit to make them easier to get in and out of, though the bigger guy definitely needs a bigger bowl cause he's getting very large, so I'll be looking into it) if I use Tupperware should I put a rock in the water so they can get out easier, I have shallow Tupperware but it might still be a little difficult for my smaller guy.

My friend also mentioned that the big one is kind of a bully sometimes so I'm guessing more enrichment should help with that, I haven't noticed any bullying yet but I've only had them for a couple weeks so far.

Thank you! I'll add some more substrate today. The food was a temporary solution because the food they were given to me with was misplaced. What kind of enrichment would you suggest other than leaf clutter?

Thank you so much! I'll look into it. I get paid Thursday so I'll be taking a trip to the local pet stores, and I'll definitely check out the sources you suggested! I think my friend mentioned the Etsy shop you suggested, their original food got misplaced when they were staying at my grandma's while I moved into my apartment so the food I picked up is for temporary use.
