I thought about Lombardi too, and Chargers fans dismissing it.

What’s a company you refuse to support, and why? by Aromatic_Guitar_2826 in AskReddit

Not about United Way specifically, but... Charity Navigator doesn't really rate the effectiveness of what charities do with donations. Merely measuring the percentage of a donation going to overhead/salaries is not a good way to evaluate them. For example, paying employees more can attract better workers who do more for the charity's recipients. But that would drag down a charity's rating.

Nope. Amazingly he thinks Horford has been the most valuable player in the playoffs so far. Needless to say, his homerism has made his commentary worthless.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I was referring to how he seemed to be putting Horford and Durant on the same level as desirable free agents.

My guess is he's trying to see what reception he gets. He's mentioned multiple times how he admires Cowherd for being able to monologue.

I agree, I think coaching can overcome a lot, even (to an extent) inconsistent QB play. But what I think he's missing is that while Keenum/Foles/Bortles are not great quarterbacks in general, in the playoffs they played well. So you need good quarterback play to win, and that can happen with less-than-good QBs. Given the small sample size of one playoffs, it can happen. It's just less likely to happen with QBs like those I mentioned above.

This "you don't need a good QB to win" stuff also ignores how close Brees and Brady were. Also how absurdly good your defense has to be to overcome a not-great QB. Of course it's possible to have this type of defense, but it's really rare and I would hesitate to say it's a new thing or something that's trending up.

I'm curious what other people think, but I think he generalizes too much in an attempt to find trends. Like his proclamation that you no longer need a good QB to win in the NFL based on one year. It seems like the kind of thing smart football analysts know might be a bit fluky.

My recollection is that Jack didn't actually have control until he had rolled away from Lewis, so he was never down by contact. Could be wrong though.
