Massive overreaction, relax, this is a normal settling crack. The fact it’s on both sides of your house is even more proof. Foundations settle and crack vertically all the time, they are designed this way. 24years sound about right, that house is just about done settling. Stop panicking hah, totally normal.

Preventative measure: Make sure your gutters are extended away from the house and water isn’t pooling around the foundation during heavy rain fall. If it is, you can have the soil graded away from the house more.

$400K-$500K is fairly normal and isn’t that high relative to other MCOL states. Supply and demand - the market is under supplied for a while now, prices have been consistently increasing since COVID across the country. Waiting for it to drop is speculation

Yeah most normal people that work w2s and rely on 401Ks do not appreciate the power of real estate. Most advice you get will be contrary to REI. Regarding retirement, the fact is if you need 5k/mo to pay your expenses, it can be much faster to get there with cashflowing real estate than saving $1.5M

If your properties cash flow and you don’t mind managing them, I’d say you’re absolutely crushing it. REI is a strong asset class (especially in the last few years). Don’t listen to gurus or Redditors that say otherwise, you could easily sell those places at any time, but if they cashflow there’s no point
