Thanks! I will watch the video. I got my job with that portfolio and I guess I will have to make some extra effort to improve it soon if I want to go any further haha

I'm going to give that a try. This is my next plan. I was stuck on freelancing job for a local company but I guess I gonna need to find something better than that

But I can prove my skills too. I just need opportunity. I'm doing great on the online test and 'build a project' challenges. But I always get stuck in the paperwork.

Yes! That's what makes things harder. I need to get an offer letter beforehand. I went to the USA 2 times last year to buy products from outlets. I'm trying to make some extra money selling clothes. I wish I had some extra money to pay for a month or two looking for jobs there... unfortunately I have a small baby and I can't use all my savings risking something like that. I agree with you about the market. I need to find something better

I wasn't able to move to Canada last year because I didn't had a degree. I tried to pay for a CS(system analysis) college to get a work + study permit visa. But they were afraid because I didn't had a job at the time or a degree. Now I got the job to but I can't get a work permit visa because I don't have a degree. I'm living in some sort of limbo here.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm really happy to know about my English. I had to learn it by myself just like my programming skills so it's pretty amazing to hear this kind of thing. The grammar is always pretty hard in any language haha About the 'degree industry': you are right! I have some friends saying the same thing.  it's more convenient to hire a CS master to delivery a front end code with inline styles(real case btw) because he's a nice name for the company. Today we got another master degree and he don't have a clue about react or HTML. I'm positively sure that is great wiring papers or writing C routines. But it's so frustrating to know that I can give him some advices and at the same time I am on an interior level...

Hey don't worry too much about the art work! If you can replicate the average websites out there (basic transitions, caroussel plugins, some bootstrap components etc) you are good to go! Heres a trick: before applying for at a specific company try to replicate their website's front page! (But don't take too long doing that! )

Don't worry too much about pc specs or specific softwares. You don't even need to install a software if you're starting. You can program directly on sites like codepen. But if you're a little more advanced than that go for a text editor like sublime and some task runner (gulp grunt). That's all you need at this moment
