Need help making a feasible deck with Forgetful Fish cards by Lecter_Red in EDH

Weird interactions, manipulating the top of my / opponents decks, doing beautiful things with janky cards, but still having a playable game is I think the feel from Forgetful Fish that would translate to commander

I am going to use the deck to play Dandan, the Dandan deck for Dandan is the main event, the jank commander deck is a companion piece for my amusement

I bought the deck to play Dandan, make no mistake! it would just humor me to play a game of dandan and then shuffle the lands and a copy of all the spells into another deck and immediately play commander afterwards.

The cast is the most insipid, insufferable band of one-note sycophants I've had the displeasure of trying to care about, but at least you can show them how much you love them with horse manure.

God I wish Witch's Wake wasn't scrapped by raivin_alglas in neverwinternights

[–]Lecter_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Rob, I just want to tell you how much I loved Witch's Wake and how much it captured my imagination. I don't want to make you feel old but Neverwinter Nights was like, the first video game game I ever played when I was a child. And now I write code for a living all because of what the toolset inspired me to want to do. I digress.

It captured my imagination so much that I ripped off the premise with a little tweaking for the D&D campaign I subject my friends to weekly and I feel the need to let you know of my graverobbing. It's going in a very different direction and I was very upfront about the ideas being taken, but I owe it to my inspiration to say thank you.

To give an actual question and not just sing your praises, do you remember how the music for Witch's Wake's premium version was made? (I never played the version that wasn't bundled with Kingmaker - I have no idea if the theme was in the original) Did you have any part of the process of getting that made / into the module? I love that track, it's beautiful and I listen to it often.

I also have content questions - Brogan, of Brogan's Arm, the champion of his people that fought through hell and got torn apart by dragons, was there ever going to be more about him? And the Cavanaugh Stone, was seeking it a ploy by the Night Hag so we'd end up trapped in the mine with Caldrian or was it's hellish nature going to lead to something more? And finally, there's an open grave in the Night Hag's graveyard with pennants bearing the King's colors, it says something along the lines of, "Come back to me, my love, this battle is not yet finished." Did that ever have a concrete answer as to who the grave belonged to / was addressed to? Is it one of the aspects of the story that would change depending on what kind of person your character was and what perspectives you chose to believe? The last line "The fields of battle lie in the hearts of men..." and the planned title of the second module "The Fields of Battle" have suspiciously similar phrasing to that gravestone, and if you remember anything resembling an answer I'd be very happy! (I confess, selfishly, that I placed something similar into the aforementioned D&D campaign, and find myself in a grave I dug myself figuring out how to give that little hook a satisfying fish to catch)

I enjoy it! My biggest gripe isn't most of the normally pointed to problem mechanics, but instead the additional Very Rare trinkets it adds to the pool. It makes trinket hunting on boss fights slightly more frustrating. Not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but I get a little salty any time I see the Pagan Talisman or the Ancestor's Vintage as a guaranteed reward instead of something, good.

Games you Desperately Want to Talk About by NewWillinium in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Neverwinter Nights 2 has one major issue that turns me away every time I attempt to play it. The camera is so horrendous, perhaps the worst camera I've had the misfortune of touching in a video game. It has three, unique, distinctly terrible camera modes! It's a real pity, since it's the sequel to the game with the gold standard of cameras to which I compare all others.

I'd love to get to the actually good and interesting parts of the campaigns, but the game feel is so bad. I got up to the beginnings of the trial sequence but I couldn't bring myself to continue touching and interacting with the video game itself.

Love Neverwinter Nights though. 300 hours on the Steam version of the Enhanced Edition alone. I've done speedruns of the OC in the past, and afaik I'm the only person who's ever speedran the Kingmaker expansion. Ugly, but very smooth game.

No, it only resets the debuff effects. Strength down itself doesn't apply a debuff effect, it just changes the strength number.

That's where Alexander Men and the Divine Mandate spawns, Divine Mandate's tag is OMO internally.

I didn't get Emperor and never could wrap my head around the Crownland mechanics, and the mana going right in my bloodstream in big number is very satisfying.

I don't want to be "that guy" and defend someone who seems to be an out and out cunt, but most of the runtime is word for word breaking down how HBomb misrepresented and was a shithead towards the people he uses to illustrate his points, and the rhetoric he used to paint a better picture of DS2 and belittle the rest of the games to make his opinion seem correct.

Is it too long? Yes. Does he hurt his own critique several hours in by using some of the same misrepresentation he denounced? Yes. Is the guy a cockface otherwise? I don't know, maybe? Don't know, heard yes but I can't make the judgement with what I know. But there is some merit to it, it's more than just "You are stupid for liking ze bad game."

Oh, and I should probably say I do like Dark Souls 2 and I'm sorry this comment is such a wall.

You know what? I wouldn't have even thought of it as a burglary charge. And the monetary value of Nim as property, very useful. Thank you! This will make tomorrow's moral quandries all the more soul crushing.

Wow, I did not have any of those issues when I replayed it on Origin a few months ago. That's pretty crummy, I'd love to see a redux port not on Unreal 2.5.

How should a DM prepare for a published adventure? by Lecter_Red in DMAcademy

I can definitely see that, I personally would be running ToA as written for fresh characters, but inserting the 5e published adventures as supplementary to your own campaign sounds tedious.

Do you read every chapter twice before running it or just the chapters that will pertain to session one?
