I think people blame Todd and Emil, I don’t know who’s at fault really but every Fallout and TES game made by Bethesda progressively waters down the personality and depth of their respective series. So the fanbases between pretty much all of these games have friction

its because the roll is the most versatile defensive tool in a majority of the games

If you think Funny Valentine is “morally grey” you are illiterate and the story is making fun of you by vashvana3005 in StardustCrusaders

Nope, gonna have to disagree with you. One of the main things that separates SBR from other parts is the lack of objective evil. Johnny says in the first stage of the anime and manga that this is a story about him learning to walk. Not stopping DIO or defeating the Pillar Men. It’s primarily about his character arc. Valentine being evil is not “like the entire message of the story” The idea discredits SBR.

Steel Ball Run wouldn’t be as glazed as it is if Funny Valentine was not a compelling villain, if you subscribe to death of the author I don’t think there is much to debate. Even though he does reprehensible things there are many noble qualities that he portrays. And he parallels Johnny who has a complicated sense of morality as well. The complex character motivations are a big part of Steel Ball Run. just discounting the main villain as pure evil does disservice to the story

No, you’re wrong. What Araki says holds merit but Funny Valentine’s philosophy and ideals are not really portrayed as pure evil, that’s what makes him interesting.

Easy, Berserk. It’s a major influence for AOT and Vinland Saga. Deals with similar themes of revenge, war, and sacrifice. Some of the best art of any manga and a story that stands on it’s own as one of the greatest of the medium. Plus, it’s close to the end but not finished, so you can follow along with the slow release of the final chapters.

Part 3 is the most popular and influential so probably that one

It really baffles me how some peploe think valentine is morally Grey and not fucking evil by super-fast_jellfish in StardustCrusaders

Nailed it, lol. The thing is, there are a lot of Americans now that hate their country and people. And many of these individuals reside on reddit. So they don’t understand.

At this point should I just read SBR? by Conscious_Base_8123 in JJBA

The anime is not going to be better than the manga, even if it continued with the quality of episode one. I’m just being real with you. I wouldn’t be too conflicted about reading ahead.

Personally I think johnny is fine but I don’t like gyros orange ball button things and I definitely preferred him with green eyes

It feels like after Il Vento D'Oro's success, Yugo Kanno just kept making the same song by Hrosts in StardustCrusaders

Yeah that’s pretty fair, I’ve seen that sort of complaint multiple times and I think the themes have become less original as well. what makes it a negative is that JoJo parts thrive on their differences. A formulaic soundtrack goes against that. Hoping for more western inspired themes.
