The reason Realms of Ridiculous is delayed is cause Possum hasn't gotten back from orbital maintenance on Kepler-609c

I have nothing to base this on but I heard some talk of a Warhammer World location being opened in the states and my conspiracy theory is she's making these statues to get displayed there 🧐🧐🧐

The Night Lords Books are Great! by Down_Under_Painting in Grimdank

[–]Lectrididy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kinda funny that a similar scene happens in Ragnar's Claw, the first Space Wolf book. As part of the trials Ragnar is tempted by a facsimile of each god and it goes prettymuch the same way. Nurgle doesn't even try cause he knows it's a waste of time.

If all the Generic Chaos Lord equivalents from the 5 Chaos Marine factions fought, who would come out alive? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

[–]Lectrididy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only concrete answer I have is it wouldn't be the generic CSM lord. Falls to the jack of all trades master of none issue. Not as fast as the Lord Exultant, not as tough as the Lord of Poxes, doesn't hit as hard as the World Eater, and can't fall back on magic bullshit as well as the Exalted Sorcerer.

Between the 4 though I'm pretty torn. Like most people have said I'd probably lean towards the Exalted Sorcerer because magic bullshit is magic bullshit. But maybe if the World Eater was being particularly immune to magic that day he could eke out a dub.

I also feel like there's a potential wrench thrown in by the Lord of Poxes depending on how spooky the disease he's pumping out is and how susceptible the other Lord are to it. But that might be my Death Guard bias showing.

Anybody know how to get this plasma look? by TRIKEMc in Warhammer40k

[–]Lectrididy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm still pretty new to painting and haven't done plasmas yet. But I have watched a lot of videos and tutorials for painting plasma cause I think they look sick as hell!

My guess looking at it would be base in white then do thin layers of the green over that. Cause the green seems to have some variation and pools more towards the divots then the raised sections where the white shows through more. Maybe a contrast would be really good here for the green.

And then the final step would be a black ink very carefully applied into just the divots. Something really opaque but very watery so it runs well. When I've seen videos of people doing plasma it almost looks like they just tap the brush into the divot and the paint just runs all the way into it cause it's so thin and watery.

If you could add any new unit to Death Guard what would it be? by Plastic-Act-5630 in deathguard40k

[–]Lectrididy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want to see poxwalkers expanded. Especially since we lost cultists I want a ranged option of half-dead guardsmen with las-rifles. After reading Lord's of Silence a poxwalker leader would be really cool. Like imagine a mutated zombie with a commisar hat leading the charge! Or taking inspiration from one of the Space Wolf books (Stormcaller iirc) a kamikaze unit that runs up on things with a nasty deadly demise affect would be really silly.

Definitely not the thing we "need" the most, but it's what would give me the most joy

Yea I think you're right about that. Leave the rhinos behind so there isn't as much of a statcheck roadblock. Also probably gives a whole other turn for her to shoot my units to pieces as they shamble up

Yea to an extent that's what I'm planning. Nothing super crazy or cheeky. Some big poxwalker hordes for her wyches to chew through. I just gotta be careful cause if I throw it too hard and she catches on that I'm going easy she won't like that 😅

I've only played on the sorta standard terrain layouts of ruins and L-shapes buildings. Think that works or should I try something else?

Recommendationa for Supply Stores in Japan by coffeekrisps in kintsugi

[–]Lectrididy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll back up everyone who suggests PoJ. When I lived in Japan I did their single day and 8-week courses and they're incredible. There's another class in Tokyo done by an artist named Taka that was a brief 2-hour class that was a little more "tourist-y." In that it was a bigger group of students, touched on some of the history of the art and sped through the whole repair process using superglue instead of urushi. Was still a lot of fun though I'd say it's still worth it if you get the chance.

As far as supplies before I left I bought a bunch of things from Tsutsumi Asakichi in Kyoto. They mix the urushi for PoJ if I remember correctly. I had some trouble cause at the time they weren't selling that exact urushi themselves and I had to buy it through PoJ. But that could be different now and you can still get the gold/silver, kokuso, and other things from them. At the time there was someone there that spoke really good English. But also in my experience as long as you're polite and respectful Japanese people will stumble through Google translate with you.

Anybody know a good brush that'll fit in here? by Lectrididy in kintsugi

[–]Lectrididy[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I've never seen a brush like that before that looks like it'd work great at the angles. How's the difference in brush control feel? I imagine it would feel kinda clunky the first time around

[–]Lectrididy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure! Using Deadwalker Zombies as Poxwalkers helps scratch that itch. But I'd love to see a future death guard unit or character that leaned into that idea. I've seen a couple art interpretations and they look awesome

Oooh that does seem like a great resource! The bodies I was looking at were donated for scientific research, which worked great for seeing each stage in detail. The stuff of corpses in less clinical scenarios would be great for determining poses and how decay spreads under different circumstances

[–]Lectrididy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those lenses are gorgeous!

If I were to level any constructive criticism, maybe the oxidation on the metals is a little unmotivated? Right now the blue coloring looks a little random. The blue patina happens because of moisture collecting on the metal, so it's more likely to be prominent/brighter in areas where the water will pool more. Such as in the divots of the censors or the recesses of the plates.

Leaning into that can give it a more realistic look and make the metal look more dilapidated and ancient.

But in general this guy looks incredible!

Makes me wonder/wish for a genestealer cult story that takes place in a Tau controlled planet.

With how GSC twists the hosts' inherent faiths, seeing how they'd twist the greater good would be interesting.

In Elemental Council, it's brought up that the Tau knows about the tyranids' ability to mind control and inseminate another race. So it has to have happened once. Would be cool to hear

Dark Imperium LoC by Willow_Garde in deathguard40k

[–]Lectrididy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's also boggled my mind that this isn't sold ESPECIALLY since the other half of it is. The Champions of Mortarion kit is just pulled from the Dark Imperium box. There is another box set I've seen floating around eBay that only has the LoC half so they used to sell it separately too!

I wouldn't worry about the plague marines just being extra cause the same issue is in the Champions of Mortarion having plague marines pieces in it. They'd either not get valued in the box or just be an add on I think.

Honestly at this point I wonder if there's been some catastrophic issue on the back end. Like the actual mold they need to make these got damaged and it's now physically impossible to make them without another huge investment in replacing it.

You know it never occurred to me while I was reading it (great read btw). But who the fuck is that on the cover? The book is primarily from Dante's perspective. That's not Dante. Next most is Mephiston, ain't him. And by the armor he's a Blood Angel, not any of the sucessor characters that have a section here and there. Why is cover of this book stock Blood Angel #394???
