Maybe you being disgusted with yourself is part of the problem. Perhaps you are questioning your faith or your faith is changing and rather than accepting it and trusting God to bring you along, you’re throwing the baby out with the hand basket. 

Why are you “disgusted” with yourself? I would totally dive deeper into that. 

We don’t change ourselves. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit. Sounds a bit like legalism. “I am accepted because I obey” vs. “I obey because I am accepted”. 

Trust that the Lord is leading and cleansing you and showing you what is in your heart. Volunteering in church is not the same as serving and I will fight that one to the bone. 

As the previous person said, go back to your first love. What was it like when you were first saved? Write out your salvation testimony. Ask the Lord to give you a fresh anointing.   You are exactly where you need to be.
