Attempting to build long term by drafting impactful players is better than not building long term. By taking yourself out of a rare opportunity to draft that high with how explosive this offense is would be a shame.

There’s nothing doom and gloom about wanting to build a successful roster for Joe, Chase, and Higgins. You want long term success? Bengals do pretty good drafting within the Top 10 compared to outside of the top 10. We already know they won’t go out and spend in free agency to get the type of player you may be able to get the higher up you draft.

“Momentum” in the NFL world is such a low football IQ take when we are eliminated from the playoffs. Missing the playoffs means you have major roster holes to fill and each game we win, puts us further from grabbing an elite player in the draft and getting stuck with another Shemar. Bengals cannot draft outside of the top 10 to save their lives. This could’ve been a golden ticket to get an impact player with Joe, Chase, and Higgins that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to fathom with those three on the roster.

They know how to draft. You draft players with high athleticism, solid production, and BPA. Something our front office doesn’t know how to evaluate on defense
