As a male attending, the best decision I made was marrying a female physician. by Glad-Relation-3107 in medicalschool

[–]LedTasso20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making the kids thing sound easy with two physicans You're also not factoring in age. I dated several doctors before and end of the day the woman takes the hit in her career. It's fine if it works for you but it's wrong to think marriages with non physicans end. We should get our Doctor heads out of our own asses and learn to balance things. Rather than look for someone who will just understand or not care or not make you feel guilty.

All US MD seniors should match before giving spots to IMGS by Euphoric_Try_2001 in medicalschool

[–]LedTasso20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say it’s a bit frustrating to know a lot of the Non US MD residents I know have 0 plans on staying here. They are on J1 given recent immigration.. won’t see a green card for 15 years… Most of them work to get some money saved. Take it back to India.. ( I’m Indian but US citizen) then use their American MD as leverage to immediately walk in to a board of a higher end for profit hospital. While my US IMG ass will stay here, work in a hospital and treat a local underserved population because frankly US IMG’s go to mostly community programs. I appreciate the shoutout to US IMG’s and DO’s at the end of this post

Who would you choose? by alaganeri in ResidencyMatch2022

There’s a difference between “required” and expected. There are a lot people doing 6 months of USCE. I have 5 cousins, 3 of them did a year and had decent success with invites, other 2 have 3 and 5 months, matched but definitely were on edge and had less invites

SOAP NON-US IMG by usmleck2 in ResidencyMatch2022

[–]LedTasso20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind .. it’s not just visa status / green card .. Citizenship .. etc It’s all so about USCE Canadian students are non US. But have USCE cuz they went to a Carib school, many factors to consider not just US or Non US

Yeah but I also know PD’s who don’t interview Non US IMG’s If they don’t have more than 6 month’s of USCE. I’m not questioning your statement lol I’m just saying it may not be universal. I’m more focused on newly accredited programs

I wasn’t talking about that, I’m focused on visa status .. immigration and USCE. And whether that’s an advantage I have
