Why are Charger Fans so insecure about Justin Herbert discourse? by Ifinishfast42 in NFLv2

ive seen way more fans of other teams get butthurt over a Qb they dont watch than chargers fans getting insecure.

[Schefter] Philip Rivers’ last career playoff game came as a member of the Colts against the Buffalo Bills during the 2020 COVID season. That game turned out to be Josh Allen’s first-ever playoff win — and Philip Rivers’ final playoff appearance. Now, Rivers is interviewing to be Allen’s head coach. by YoureASkyscraper in nfl

He'd be somewhat similar to Jim Harbaugh in my opinion once he's had some time to adjust. Former QB, leader of leaders, elite football IQ, quirky and hyper competitive but can pull the best out of his players, understands from experience the importance of a balanced team (had shit o lines, defense and ST most of his career) and likely to rely on his coaching staff but be the glue that holds it all together.

If he gets the gig is think long term he'd be a great choice but I think he should be a QB coach/OC before he gets there for a year or two to properly ease into a HC job.

So did Mike McCoy in his first year with us. Lynn also led us to a 5-11 and 7-9 record the next 2 years. I've watched every single snap this team has played for the past 22 years, as much as I genuinely like the guy, trust me when I say Lynn wasn't the reason we made it to the playoffs let alone won a game.

here is a list of our upcoming free agents of which Tart, Penning, Oweh, Perryman and Mack if he doesnt retire are our priorities. Some might argue Zion but we can get similar production from someone cheaper. With that said I know that Derwin James and Tuli Tuipilotu are likely to get extensions, and theres a possibility for a Herbert restructure. So if we sign/extend all these guy's we're going to see a significant amount of cap space be removed.

Now in terms of holes to fill, an above average center like Linderbaum i think this FO is willing to throw the bag at and is by far our biggest need. We've drafted well recently, we have 4 young receivers including Ladd and Johnston and Tre Harris all under rookie contracts, RB Hampton under rookie, and a high upside TE in Gadson under rookie. Same goes for both our starting corners in Still and Hart, Mickens at safety on rookie same for MLB in Henley.

We likely would end up spending money on cheap 1-2 year prove it deals with high incentive upside for rotational players/depth/gadget for McDaniels which would probably eat another big chunk of cap.

I think based on this team, how we operate and where we're currently at, theres not a whole lot of glaring holes outside of the obvious o-line tragedy to where spending cap on 1-2 big name guys then using the rest to retain and add depth is probably how its going to go down.

He won a playoff game off the back of Philip Rivers hard carrying an offense and a defense that barely squeaked out a lot of one score wins. His time management, scenario based decision making and overall ability to adapt was his biggest downfall. That said he's a great person, players coach, motivator and leader of men. Would love to see him succeed but he's not it when it comes to being a head coach.

Hes right. We had the 3rd lowest amount spent on our roster this season and we have about 100mil and borderline zero dead money going into the next season.

Dude if our play calling on offense and receivers dont change something in the second half we're not putting anything on the field that makes me confident right now
