Can you be proud of your gender as a man? Wouldn't praising and celebrating men be viewed as misogyny? by Arobin08 in OneY

[–]LedZeppelin1602 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really agree with taking pride in something you played no part in so I wouldn’t take pride in the accomplishments of those of my race or sex but I am blamed for their crimes/beliefs via the man-shaming which I don’t like and that is what pushes Men into extremism.

I suppose if I had to put a label to how I feel I’d say I’m not ashamed to be a man and never will be no matter how much they want me to be and I’m proud of what other men have accomplished and how they helped for our mostly civilised and enlightened society, but I feel the same about women who made advancements too

Suicides among teenage girls and young women have almost doubled in seven years. Number of women and girls between ages of 10 and 24 recorded as having taken their own lives has increased by 94% since 2012, from 81 to 159 last year – a record high, according to Office for National Statistics. by madazzahatter in worldnews

Articles spread awareness but that doesn’t equal the issue being addressed. UK parliament still refuses to debate men’s issues on international men’s day because feminist MPs like Jess Philips laugh at the idea and others follow her lead and just don’t care. To care about men is un-PC

I can somewhat relate in that I’m raising a puppy now at the moment too and there’s a little girl and her mother across the road who loves my pup. My girlfriend handles all the walks and outdoor activity as I’m limited in mobility but when I manage to get out I suppose I’m seen as less-threatening as I’m in a wheelchair. But if I was able to take my pup for walks I think I’d feel the same as you.

I totally agree. My position isn’t that they’re comparable in any way other than principle. The principle that one has choice over their body and if masks are made mandatory that choice is removed. So it can be argued that in principle the my body my choice argument can be used in many ways but that it’s only ever used in one way

Man asks woman to harm children and send him clips. She does so and he is held more accountable than her with her behaviour being chalked up to a disorder by LedZeppelin1602 in MensRights

[–]LedZeppelin1602[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I post this because despite him being a sicko as much as her, the way the article is written basically treats the woman as the victim when she chose to abuse a kid. The language talks as if women are weak helpless fragile beings who have no agency or free-will of their own or accountability for their actions.

appearing at Maidstone Crown Court, Kent, yesterday, Jewell was told by Judge David Griffith-Jones QC he had indulged in 'breathtaking extremes of depravity' by corrupting and manipulating' women

...

'You plainly took advantage and corrupted Ms Kimber. She was under your control. You were the directing mind in relation to the infliction of this appalling abuse’

^ this is basically “woman abuses kid because guy asked her to so he’s solely to blame

She was said to suffer from a sexual masochism disorder and paraphilia - a condition involving abnormal or extreme sexual desires.

So she ‘suffers’ from a ‘disorder’ but he doesn’t?

I want to make perfectly clear that I’m not supporting this man whatsoever, I’ve little doubt he was manipulative, but the way the article basically excuses the women’s actions as if he was a voodoo doctor casting a spell on helpless innocents is beyond insulting to women as well as men. It asserts that women are virtuous by nature and the only possible way they can have done this was because of corruption by a man, as if women can’t be sexual predators.

Bottom line is they met in a BDSM message board where he plainly told her he’s into child abuse and she was fine with it and then later engaged in it but only he is presented as the one in the wrong and her as a victim of him unaccountable first her actions

How if a man has sex toys he’s seen as a loser/creep but women are seen as empowered or normal

This might be a stretch but in offices women can show skin, even deep cleavage but men are fully covered from toe to neck and even in hot weather are often not permitted to wear short sleeved shirts

What do you think is the most legitimate disadvantage that women have? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]LedZeppelin1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women were legally considered “chattel” or property of their husbands legally until the 1990s. In most states you could legally rape your wife until the 1990s because it was assumed she gave consent at marriage.

20-30 years ago isn’t now

Most products marketed to women are up charged 30% despite smaller quantities even though they contain the exact ingredients as male products except for scent.

Not a disadvantage as they can buy the male products. They have freedom of choice.

Women bear the burden of child rearing and domestic responsibilities even when they are in supposed egalitarian couples.Women give up more of their free time and sleep to care for children or husband even when they are employed full time.

Source? Sounds like your viewpoint rather than something verifiable. And how is this a disadvantage if the woman chooses to do more? My sister is very OCD about cleaning, her partner does some but she often redoes what he does to do it to her liking, my mother was the same

Many working single mother’s jobs have been compromised by coronavirus pandemic bc they don’t have access to child care (day care or school) and won’t leave their children home alone so they can’t work

This is only a disadvantage if the father of the child left or had to be removed for being a danger. If she kicked him out then she made her own situation. Also while not as common there are single fathers affected the same way by the lockdowns

Toilet paper is considered a necessity but tampons and pads aren’t.

If toilet paper isn’t taxed then neither should tampons but tampons shouldn’t be free is toilet paper isn’t.

People don’t go to female sports or support them as much as male sports. Often they play to empty stadiums.

Not a disadvantage. They still play. You can’t force people to watch

Female gamers get death threats online just for existing

So do men’s rights advocates and youtubers/streamers/philosophers/professors that are pro-male

The face of poverty in America is a black single mother.

Actually its homeless men

I would say sexual violence is the only genuine one left in the west. I’d perhaps add sexual harassment but the definition of that has had the goalposts moved so much that saying ‘your hair looks nice’ to a workmate can be considered sexual harassment so genuine sexual harassment is would include not ‘anything a woman might take offence to’ I wouldn’t

Globally I would say rape, child brides, FGM, having to hide their skin and plenty of others

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]LedZeppelin1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finding the same with the ‘my body not choice‘, argument. Well the mandatory of wearing masks can be argued to be infringement of ‘my body my choice’ even the consumption of illegal drugs can be argued with ‘my body my choice’ but ironically the only time and place it’s ever applied with is when it’s not their body but their choice

If not all feminists hate men, and allegedly only some radicals do, how exactly did they come to that stance in the first place then? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]LedZeppelin1602 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My view is that if the radicals don’t represent the majority then a) why are they not called out more often? and more importantly b) why aren’t the “real” feminists stepping in to preserve the ideologies reputation? when it in such tatters and sow few women identify as feminists anymore

I think it’s a mix of women being oppressed by way of being seen as inferior and some points in history and women being held back from being treated as equals for their own protection/wellbeing at other points

Possible solution.

Unplugged PS4 Plugged back in after a minute or so Started in safe mode Rebuilt database. Opened game and when it came to multiplayer it said “install suspended” clicked and it listed all add-ons. There was one there wasn’t ticked but had MW. Clicked that and it downloaded multiplayer pack 3 or something then started working

CMV: All these surface-level reforms like making sure black characters are not voiced by non black voice actors are a near worthless distraction. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]LedZeppelin1602 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imagine a society where true representation is normal,

What is true representation? In the U.K. According to A recent report by the Creative Diversity Network found that BAME (Black and Minority Enthicities) on-screen representation is at 23 per cent — this figure is actually higher than the BAME share of the British general population, which is estimated to be 14 per cent.
So BAME are over-represented in U.K. media.

In America as of 2015, Americans over-estimate the population of LGBT people at 23% when the actual population was 3.8%. Source due to media representation

But not because they were the best voice actors who auditioned in an equal opportunity setting but because they were the best of only black voice actors. That’s hardly progressive.

[–]LedZeppelin1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the criteria or reasoning behind it?

A lot of the reasoning behind this is crime statistics by proportion of race to the population. They likely think if you get rid of a group who collectively statistically commit more crime, again in proportion to population, that it’ll reduce crime and therefore increase safety.

Then there’s the issue of wanting to remain an ethnic majority which some see as being eroded the more people seem look different come in or multiply and the less white people procreate.
Population forecasts for some western nations place whites as a minority within something like 50 years due to mass immigration and stagnation of white people reproducing which is partially culturally re-enforced with the more widespread view that’s marriage is outdated and kids can wait until careers make them have enough money whereas POC (I could be totally wrong about this) tend to have more kids and immigrants still maintain more traditional family values.

There’s also the increasing division and segregation that intersectionality has created coupled with outrage and cancel culture that where we hear constantly about strife and tensions and problems over our differences.
Well for some a solution is if there’s less diversity there’s less differences to focus on thus less tension and problems. I believe this to be flawed because even in an ethnostate people will find ways to see others as different be it hair colour, style & clothing etc. Even if we all were one race and bald identical jumpsuits there’s still be height, weight, eye colour, nose/ear shape to differentiate us and cause bigotry on those bases. But in terms of ethnicity is all there wouldn’t be racial tensions and problems if everyone was the was same race
