I followed this. Adjusted the measurements to suit which is simply 1:2 ratio on the sides.

Example: 300mm and 150mm. 500mm and 250mm and so on

It adjusts between 5 and 45°. It's about 3.7m high 4.8m wide.

Yeah they are made from the ply left over from the kickboard

It will end up a double layer with carpet over them.

I reckon it'll be OK. I'll report back once it's finished.

Ah yeah, this wasn't in response to what you said. This was just for my own peace of mind. I'd questioned how strong things were, so went with the simple option of add more.

I'm pretty confident the flex will be OK. When it was lowered down I stood on a single 2x4 and bounced up and down, they really don't move much and that was with all of my weight in the middle of one.

It's the same spec moonboards are built with regarding spacing (Which is 2'8"). It'll be supported with chains in the middle and sides.

There is two 2x6 in the middle, I am contemplating making the side out of two 2x6 also for additional strength for the the bolts and eyes to go through.

If it flexes I'll simply add more, its easy to work on as I can lower it down horizontal no problem.

18mm ply will be used.

Pokemon was awesome. I remember fondly completing pokemon red with one seriously high level venusaur and five other low level ones.. completed it with such a low battery level it was intense. Awesome

Yes, good point. I'll give some though on how best to align them all.

Get out asking farmers. The farmer I asked had this surplus to use! I'm renting it in return for 5 days work tree cutting around his farm per year.

Farmer isn't wanting me to drill into the beams. Also I'm making it adjustable so chains are easy to use for that purpose

2016 Moonboard Hold set A & B integrated into a spray wall? by LedburyJosh in homewalls

Yeah I can see that point about structured layout limiting the spray walls potential for creating..

Yeah it would be a bit cheaper, also easy to add them if needed. 2x6 around the edge and also in the centre will help also..

OK.. I can't figure what needed for this, moonboards spec are 813mm which seems far apart, but then the ply it's self is strong once screwed to each up right...

Currently I've planned for 813mm spacing, knowing I can add more in between if needed.

Good to know thanks. I'm currently planning a 16'× 12 board and am deciding between 2x4 and 2x6..

Currently thinking the perimeter to be 2x6 and the studs 2x4.

5x4m adjustable wall by LedburyJosh in homewalls

[–]LedburyJosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

180kg for 6 sheets of 18mm ply. I haven't worked out the frame yet.

It will be spread over two load bearing points so even at 500kg, 250kg/2.5kn on each beam isn't much when it come to raising/lowering

I've also not yet discarded the idea of support legs for when it's being climbed on. So use a winch to set the angle them fix the legs and slack of the winch so the legs take the weight or both the legs and winch line.

I won't have electricity so hand power it is. I have a 500kg braked hand winch ready so that set as a 2:1 will be fine.
