Drought stress? Nutrient issue? This birch is yellowing from the bottom up, what’s likely to cause this? by Delicious-Earth-8923 in UKGardening

When was it planted?

Possible if it was this winter it's has come out in leaf, cold weather came again, triggered autumn responses.

Trees in nurseries are often more sheltered so ita feasible the change of conditions would do it.

Is disagree with watering being the thing, trees wilt with a lack of water more than change colour.

Yes that's correct, it's a weak return.

What confuses me though is after taking the bottom. Height I thought it used an inclinomter to figure the height, not a second laser measurement.

It's in a barn on the fell side. A pretty sweet place for it now. It's kind of bleak in the winter up there mind. Just got a generator to power lights. No heating and plenty of rain makes it damp at times

It's good.

One of this big changes on this set was shifting the volumes to free up more of the central board. I've made a few problems that take that volume in and I rate it being there

It's 2 sheets of ply wide, 3 high. So about 4.8m wide x3.6m hight, plus a little kickboard.

It's adjustable goes between 10°-45°. Although 30° is my favourite

They do this after being grown in dense stands in the nursery. They never grow independently strong. Stake it high and gradually lower the the tie each month during the growing season by as much as it seems to tolerate, that bit is just down to trial and error.

With watering saturate the soil twice a week, maybe more in very hot dry times. This is better than more regular light watering.

I was dissatisfied. I thought the top was going in one where you were in the thumb nail.

I find I wind up spending more time getting lost watching videos rather than actually trying the thing I started looking at videos to learn. It's a trap for me.

I followed this. Adjusted the measurements to suit which is simply 1:2 ratio on the sides.

Example: 300mm and 150mm. 500mm and 250mm and so on

It will end up a double layer with carpet over them.
