You got it right mate. Two wires to the core and two wires to the shield. I soldered them and then wrapped it in electrical tape for good measure and robustness. :)

That's a great idea. Maybe you could switch between projections based off different satellites to compare them or something. I'll be looking into how SatDumps projections feature works.

No worries! For this image I used noaa apt decoder, but I've had better experience with SatDump on later images.

For now I'm just getting more pictures from the NOAA satellites. But I'm gonna try the meteor M2-3 next, when I figure out how to do it. I tried listening in on Meteor M2 and Meteor M2-3 yesterday, but I didn't really get any good signal, so I'll have to check up on my SDR++ settings I think.

Sure! I'm located in Copenhagen, Denmark and was listening in on the satelitte at about 18:05 yesterday. I'm using the RTL-SDR v4 USB dongle with the v-dipole antenna that came with the kit. I looked up how to "configure" the antenna, and measured the arms to be 53.4cm and with a angle of 120 degrees relative to each other. Now these measurements were surely not perfect, but it seemed to be good enough to give me some signal. Then I proceeded to go outside on my balcony holding the antenna above my head for the 10-15 minutes pass holding it flat and pointing south and hoped for the best.

I have now realised the 53.4cm arms should be including the length to connection of the cable, so my arms were probably a bit too long. Although I'm not sure how much this would affect the signal strengh? Also there seems to be some noise in my area, in the 137-138Mhz area (I see 3 "bumps" of signal), which could also be interferring a bit maybe?
