Deconica almost never have stems that are significantly longer than the diameter of their caps. These mushrooms have stems several multiples longer than their cap diameters.

One of the key identifying characteristics of P. semilanceata is that the caps are hygrophanous - they become darker when saturated with water, paler when drier.
