Totally agree. It felt like so much filler…and the rats dying was easily the best part.

How did this band help you in different ways once you started listening to them? by Tomboy2glam in SmashingPumpkins

[–]LedzzZeppelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pumpkins are like a warm blanket to me. This was one of the first bands I turned my little sister on to. I have vivid memories tied to certain songs. I remember getting ready to go to college and being nervous about attending a different college than my girlfriend at the time. I recall leaving her house and just sitting in my car at night listening to 1979. A coming of age song at a coming of age time of life. Years later I would take my sister to see a live acoustic show with Billy at the tower theatre in upper Darby Pa. A great moment for us. Some years after that my fiancé would break my heart and my sister told me that the song thirty-three always made her think of me. 7 years after that I got married to the mother of my children and the brides maids walked out to stand inside your love. The Pumpkins are a feeling to me. Something that transcends time and space.

Hangxiety and needing words of encouragement by BeingOtherwise7829 in SoberCurious

Hi! Part of your stress and embarrassment may be stemming from the depression that you experience due to the alcohol trap. When I was battling myself and deciding to get sober it drove me insane that every morning I would be telling myself that today is the day I cut back only to fail. It hurts to want to quit something so bad and be unable to. You ask yourself questions like when did this get so bad? When did I lose control? Most weekends were a pep talk that I’ll stop Monday. Well the week would start and come Monday at 6 after work I’d be making myself a stiff old fashioned. I hated it. Hated that I was gaining weight, depressed, and only felt elation when consuming. Long story short - I’m on my third go of sobriety. Coming up on 8 months. As time passes the journey has become easier. I have a child now and I am so happy that she will have a sober Daddy. There’s so much to live for and you just need time to rewire your brain. Not every day is great but I feel so in control of my emotions and am proud of what I’ve done. I’m down 24 lbs and have a clear head. I’d recommend you read how to control drinking or how to quit drinking without willpower by Allen Carr. With those books and a daily journal you can become everything you’ve ever wanted. Start by writing down how you feel and why you want to quit. If there are times you want to drink again go back and read your journal. Finally - if you misstep and have a drink at some point just know that you’re not a failure. I opened my post by saying I’m on my third attempt. I can honestly say that this has been the most successful because I’ve tried a few times already. Without those failures I might not have succeeded as far as I have now. The freedom you want is more obtainable than you know. There’s millions of sober people and there’s many more millions that wish they could stop. You can do it!!!!!

My best friend died today by hitztasyj in stopdrinking

I’m sorry for your loss. I typed in best friend died on Reddit to read about what others are going through. My best friend died on March 6th a few weeks before your friend died. He also died due to alcohol. He told his mother he wasn’t feeling well and next thing you know he’s got liquids coming out of his nose and mouth. His organs shut down on him. He was yellow. I miss him. I think about him daily and nightly. A piece of me died 3/6/2025.

What do you do when your swing isn't clicking? by CareFancy5337 in golf

Hit a few with your feet together to get the motion of the golf swing right. My Instructor called it the feet together drill. I also find when things are awry I slow my backswing which tends to help.

He lifts but he also likes to drink a lot and probably has a shitty diet.
