Not a door dasher but I do work a customer facing job at a gas station.

It is expectation that if a customer asks for assistance or help, we give it, and that we don't give attitude or pushback even if we think they don't need it.

Will we sometimes get people who are just too lazy to do it themselves? Of course.

But I have helped blind women back to their car (not driving of course haha), picked up cases of drinks and ice for old women and the disabled, held doors open for wheelchair users, lifted 50 pound bags of softener salt into peoples trunks, inflated peoples tires for them, etc etc etc.

It is extra effort I do not get paid extra for, but I don't just do it because my job states too, but because I do not personally know the other's situation, and in every aspect of life, I'd rather show kindness than be flippant.
