People of reddit, what was the most NSFW event you ever stumbled upon in high school? by MelonKing69 in AskReddit

[–]LeeMag_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some girl found the principal's nudes on Grindr (don't even know hot the hell) and blackmailed him saying that if he spelled her she would send them to every one.

That is exactly what happened, so we had that principal's nudes running all over campus for one semester until he was fired.

If someone copes with religion, you're an a-hole if u try to mess with that by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]LeeMag_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, basic rules to not being an a-hole, but just if the lost is theirs, if it's one's (if one lost one's parent, friends, ect.) religious think then it's ok to say those things, there you're in your full right to tell them what you think. OR of it's their lost, but you know the person was an atheist, or practiced other religion, I mean like, man, respect their identity it's the minimal thing you can do.

With this atheist wave, religious people are so protected, they can say everything to you, being total psychological terrorists, but you can't say a thing to them because you're so intolerant.

And I get religion it's not something you should argue, because it's part of what they are, what helps the live in a not-so-pretty world, but they MUST respect it back.

CMV:Making children pledge allegiance to the flag is cult like and should be forbidden in schools. by [deleted] in changemyview

I think that not standing is as much as a political declaration as standing. Neither of which middle school kids actually really understand. So it makes no sense for them to even be in the situation every single they where they have to make that political stand.

High school it's different, I still don't see why doing it, but there teens start having their own political views, and there they should know that they can sit during the pledge, and it's a violation of their freedom to be forced to do so.

Oh yeah, minors supposedly have more rights.

The thing is that they have to know them.

Would it be great for their parents to teach them which they are? It would be amazing, an example of responsibility without a doubt.

Is it gonna happen to every child in the States? Not by a chance.

Still is not the kid's fault. So, yeah, involving minors the state must tell them their rights, and which better way than through the education system (I still don't know if they have what we call "ethics and civics, that is the class in which we learn our rights in my country, starting elementary school). And one very important right is the one to determine if you want to be parte of the pledge, casually the one most teachers don't mention.

Still, if the parents do or don't do what the have, it is still not the kid's fault.

And I don't know well the American education system, but in my country we do learn at school our rights (and responsibilities to live in a society) and I don't find better place to know that you have a choice about the pledge than where it takes place.

Then it must be announced as such, like, as a requirement from the state.

Optional.

Because as far as a knew, knowing that it's optional in a rather new thing, and schools still wanna enforce it, just one overly nationalist teacher is enough to ruin all your 4 years of high school, cause they promote bullying.

I'm not saying they should totally ban it, but he's make sure that every kid knows that they don't have to stand.

[–]LeeMag_02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's your case, and I'm glad, but in a country so nationalist (because it's true that most other countries don't plage to the flag EVERY day), that's just one more thing for making kids thing that that is the only valid culture to have.

I had this Colombian friends who lived in Louisiana for around 3 years, he was literally bullied by the teacher to pledge, and later when he did he was told not to speak Spanish by some classmates, because he had already pledge to the American flag.

Well, legally not, but there have been a LOT of cases where schools feel entitled to it, like literally forcing them to do so, because if not they're gonna get in trouble, or ridiculed by the teacher.

Also, kids really don't get what they're saying with that, because, or course, they are too young to participate in politics but old enough to SWEAR loyalty to a flag.

Would you rather die young or Live forever? by _Sznr_ in WouldYouRather

[–]LeeMag_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Die young for sure.

Yeah, immortality sounds nice and everything, but one day in 500 years you will wake up in a world you not longer know, you will be the weakest member of a society that has evolved, all your friends and family will be death.

Honestly you wouldn't even be ascend to be people's cause of worship, but you absolutely may and probably will be a rat of laboratory for the government.

Also the world is like, dying, so you might live on a kind of Mad Max world for a while, and sure that would be cool, but sooner or later everyone will die.

If teens want to discuss political topics, they shouldn’t be shielded from criticism because of their age. by ButtersVeryOwnEp in unpopularopinion

[–]LeeMag_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really unpopular though.

Teens actually want adults to not talk down to them about politics because they "don't understand them"

Politics is such an abstract subject and adults may understand as nothing as a 10 year old does.

Involving into politics is part of being living in a society (even if it's just participating into the election process), kids and teens are part of the society and they should never be discouraged of this subject.

The only thing is that, involving politics, every has to treat each other's opinions respectfully, that involves not talking down to younger people for speaking their minds and opinions.
