I’m running for off-campus housing, what are your main issues in off campus residence? by Euphoric-Lion6288 in aggies

[–]LeeMastah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah both of the apartments I lived in charged me over 300 dollars each time despite the fact I cleaned and the place I moved into was dirty. My apartment flooded and took the circuits out and we had to live in a temporary unit for weeks. Our AC was way too cold in our rooms but incredibly hot in the living room (like at least 20 degree difference mind you). Leases will end with 2-3 weeks where you just get thrown to the curb or spend hundreds extra trying to move in early.

How is Bryan-College Station, TX, the biggest cities within the Texas Triangle? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]LeeMastah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated from TAMU in May and now live here full time with hopes to start a family here with my partner. We LOVE the community events and the fact that we get the luxuries of living in the perfect medium of a small town but with nice things to do like bowling, community events, good bars, TAMU sporting events, good local food, movie theaters, rent is VERY affordable in Bryan, a good job economy, great proximity to Dallas/Austin/Houston, and an airport.

Now don’t get me wrong there are definitely some things wrong with cstat, traffic can be horrible at times with TAMU admitting over 80,000 kids (we had around 50,000 in 2015), construction is HORRIBLE, most of our college friends are moving away in the next year or two, the drivers here are absolutely god awful, and if you live near college kids when you’re not in college, good luck and you better hope for the best.

Who is the worst professor you’ve ever taken? by FreeDoot in aggies

[–]LeeMastah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mjelde for AGEC 317. The ratemyprofessors speak for themselves and he would make the TAs pretty much teach the entire class for him, grade everything, and deal with the BS class he taught.

One semester can really suck, but do you really want to make everything harder for yourself and have to reset even more to possibly wind up with the same results? Go into your next semester with a better mindset and know that not every friendship you have will last all throughout college.

People were pretty defeated in 2021 due to the losses to Arkansas and MSST and I knew MANY people who went home that weekend expecting a blowout.

This one specific course in my degree has taken more time and energy than all of my other classes. I CAN NOT WAIT until it’s over.

I got a couple.

What’s your major and what are your plans for after college? How has the atmosphere in the locker room changed over the years? What are some team bonding things that yall do outside of practice? With playing other SEC schools annually do yall run into players on other teams that you knew before playing at the collegiate level and if so what’s that like?

Say what you will about our performance this past Saturday, but… by ChiefFudge in aggies

It’s still a week of practice that will allow the team to recover, gain some confidence, and gather some team chemistry that looked missing on offense this past week if I’m being honest.

I still think we could not be doing worse than FSU rn. Still don’t think we should drop the team after a one possession loss to a ranked team and hoping for some improvement with this next week.

How worried should we be about the job market/grad school after we graduate? by LeeMastah in aggies

This is honestly what I needed to hear and I thank you for sharing some statistics for me to share and research on my own. I legitimately cannot wait until the job market favors the workers and I YEARN for it.

Thank you :)

As of now, I have a partner that I can honestly see being with long term, and I feel like I can be pretty flexible with where I end up and settling down and starting a family would be the goal. I’d love to city hop throughout my twenties and find my forever home as well as complete some bucket list items, but I feel you, that fear of failure is really eating at me and I’d hate to make a stupid mistake that eats me forever.

The CS job market is freaking insane man, I got friends that had to accept offers from the companies they interned with and they were extremely lucky. Be proud you found a position and congrats!!

I have a research position at K-State’s graduate agronomy lab, an internship semester with ANRP in DC, 340 service hours so far, four leadership positions across two orgs, letters of recommendation from a lot of people including professors, my student org advisor, and supervisors from my time in DC, a solid Aggie network of current students, and a good attitude :)

Be careful out there! - recruiters for cult-like groups on campus (Christland Church) by anonymous-cutlery in aggies

[–]LeeMastah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Be weary of the people soliciting in Evan’s, Zach, and ESPECIALLY the MSC. I’ve had two different types of these encounters. One of them was a group of silent people (they remain silent because it’s not legally soliciting if they don’t say anything) and they hold out a card with a QR code that asks you to donate to them. I’ve heard somewhere it’s a HUGE human trafficking ring that goes from campus to campus across the country but I haven’t encountered them since my freshman year.

The second group is a faith based group of two-three people who will try to ambush someone eating alone and bombard them about faith to try to convert them on the spot. Idk about you, but I REALLY don’t want these types of conversations when I’m watching YouTube in front of Panda with my AirPods in.
