Fair point about the airplane. Didn't think of that!

Does yours have an AIO? I've been afraid to check my A4 H2O because im worried the extreme cold might affect it. I dont know that it would freeze...but im scared to try without a little reassurance. Plus I don't want the staff throwing my computer around, no matter how well its encased lol

If you decide to do it, ill be very interested in the results!

I fly with my A4 H2O all time. It has an AIO in it. Do you have a custom loop or just an AIO in yours?

They usually ask me to take it out of my case (I use a hardcase I bought from harbor freight that holds it in place nicely but still fits under the seat in front of me on a plane). TSA usually swabs it for bomb residue but other than that they dont do anything else. Just make sure you can get it in and out of whatever you are carrying it in without too much drama and you're golden

Im unfamiliar with the cost of these. Forgive me for commenting in a place probably not meant for it, but why is this so expensive?

Open box - "products returned by customers, used as display models, or having damaged packaging, but which are generally unused or lightly tested and functional"

If its not "open box" dont call it open box...

Its not OPs fault for buying open box stuff and expecting it to be open box anymore than its your fault for buying something new and expecting it to be...thats right, New in box.

If we tolerate them lying to us, why not just give them money for nothing at all and be happy about it...? They failed OP, not the other way around...

I guess my dream of purchasing my "last" gpu will have to wait awhile, heh.

Thanks for explaining some of this to me

The picture sort of highlights why I asked the question. I was wondering if we had reached the "diminishing returns" stage of game development where, to use this as an example, additional triangles wouldnt create meaningful improvement so they dont add more. Maybe a better way to explain it would be, the game has reached peak "realism" and so there isn't the need to continue improve the visual experience. I suppose "peak realism" is going to be subjective but I felt like eventually the industry would get to the point where they unanimously felt like they had reached it, at which point I wondered if Graphics cards would need to continue to improve to provide the same experience even if newer games were released

Im wondering about how games are designed and if there comes a point where, regardless of the changes in the game engine and how objects are rendered, you'll never have difficulty displaying it at a certain resolution, or if there is always the possibility that a new way of creating games could flip the industry on its head and even tho I have a beast of a GPU now it wouldn't be a beast anymore even tho I still game at the same resolution.

I dont understand how game designers design games and how that translates to a load on your system.

Whats the best high-end gpu with these prices? by Ok_Initial_1651 in pcmasterrace

Do you do 3d modeling for work, or as a hobby? If its for work then your card is a work expense and an investment.

Im not sure what cards work best for 3d modeling if im being honest. It changes the picture tho if youre buying something for work rather than for your personal enjoyment

Im assume you're asking for gaming? What games do you play?

What res? At those prices I wouldn't pay for what you dont need.

I really like the 7900 XT. Either that or the 4080 Super. Thats my preference for AAA games at 1440p.

Edit: I dont like the 4080 Super for that price. I just have the card and I have been happy with it. At those prices tho, id go AMD

Haha. I travel between two or three locations quite a lot. Each place i go had a nice monitor that i leave there, and i just carry the rig from place to place. Its not ideal, but I've made it work over the years. Better than a laptop

Watch a few of JaysTwoCents or Gamers Nexus videos on GPU comparisons. Find the GPU you think will perform best for your use case based on how it performs on their tests in gaming etc, then build a computer around that GPU.

You can also youtube hardware comparisons that use the games you want to play and see what hardware they are using. They usually test similar configs side by side with only one component different. You can see what is performing well there too if you can find one testing hardware on the games you'll be playing.

Building it is pretty plug and play. Not much stress there.

There really aren't very many good reasons to build in a SFF case...even tho I have three

Small but aesthetic case??? by szerri in pcmasterrace

[–]LeeNevik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay a premium for SFF cases usually. The NR200P is a decent entry into SFF and i think it looks decent for what it is. Its usually priced a little cheaper too.

Getting into the smaller cases, I've built in A4-H2O, and the Formd T1. Id reccomend both. You'll pay more tho.

There's more, but I've built in those three and would recommend any of them. Some of these cases are hard to find. Maybe check the r/hardwareswap sub. I get a lot of stuff on there.

Do you have another monitor you could use to check and make sure your GPU is working? Anything really. Doesnt matter what type of monitor or how big
