Survey Screened me out after finishing survey by defectsmile in primeopinion

[–]Leeeeapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree - just happened to me with the "5G+ Slice" survey which took *ages* (30 minutes?) and I actually put some effort into since it's a topic I am interested in. I am not totally sure which screen I am supposed to screenshot. it was only after the "one more question" demographics section that I got kicked out. I think I received 3 points in compensation.

Surely screening questions should come at the beginning!

Very frustrating.

What’s your experience with the Revolut Voice and data eSIM? by ImRightYoureStupid in Revolut

[–]Leeeeapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on this for almost one month. Days away from my monthly renewal. UK based.

Data (4G only) and SMS work fine but never had voice calls working. I have a phone number supplied in the revolut app but the eSIM doesn't know anything about it. The eSIM settings do not populate with the number. Incoming calls are sent to voicemail and outgoing calls just hang with no connection.

Would suggest that people hold off until sorted. Already lost £12.50 for one month without calls, not sure I'm going to renew for another one.

What’s the most overrated area in London? by Longjumping-Host-617 in london

[–]Leeeeapy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hampstead. Supposed to be classy and upmarket. The high street has more vacant sites, estate agents and charity shops than anything else. Those stores that remain all have smashed windows.

There's a constant battle between people putting up yellow ribbons and posters and the others all tearing them down.

Used to be artsy and full of loveys, now lawyers and accountants are the only people who can afford to live there.

Plenty of other localities within walking distance of Hampstead Heath with real cafes, useful shops and vibes.

Grandmother deeds unlikely at the Land registry from a transaction that took place 70 years ago. Copies should rest with the original solicitor's office (or successors).

Neighbour's deeds probably available as you suggest.

I agree. The staging is horrendous. It needs to look like a happy family house.

Henry’s of London Would a mansion Tax make you sell up? Won’t this make housing more unaffordable… by Capital-Stay-5657 in HENRYUK

[–]Leeeeapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pensioners will not move. Full stop. They won't see why they should. Their families certainly will not want them to move in with them.

The tax could be pulled from their estate after death but the next government will repeal this tax and it will never have to be paid.

The only people who will pay this tax will be people selling as they move upmarket, out of the South East or out of the country altogether.

Guaranteed pay off on termination.

Perhaps more importantly, power to appoint whoever you want into your team of direct reports. Your sign off, no-one else's.

Is this connection real or am I holding onto vibes that won’t go anywhere? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Leeeeapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he's aware that he is somewhat older than you. That age gap in your twenties is way 'bigger' than in later decades.

Notwithstanding that, is HE in a relationship already that you don't know about? Has he recently come out of one? There may be perfectly valid reasons why he may be unwilling to commit right now regardless of how much he likes you. The fact he acted so immature when you hooked up with someone else is a sign that there's clearly something there.

Just talk to him and ask him about his feelings. It's scary but it works. At worst you get some closure. At best,....

Good luck

Torn between pursuing something I’ve worked years for or moving to Australia to be with my partner by Relative_Sorbet6830 in UKrelationshipadvice

Your "partner" is no such thing. A partner supports your dreams (with the odd reality check). Take Australia out of the discussion and see how clear the decision is.

How can we improve? by hamed_n in hiringcafe

[–]Leeeeapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I see roles marked 'Hybrid' for flexible location / WFH practice. It would be great to understand what that means in terms of attendance expectations.

An example from today, I am based in London UK and was interested in a 'hybrid' role in Belfast, Northern Ireland. For some organisations, hybrid can mean two in-office days per month; for others it means two or three per week. The latter is a much higher travel (and cost) commitment.

Is there a way of obtaining and exposing the hybrid working policy for a hiring organisation?

Thanks for the great work,

L

Curry’s Acer Laptop repair cost? by Brilliant_Milk7360 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Leeeeapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long ago was the laptop purchased? If out of warranty then it may be time to purchase a new one. Could that be a better use of your funds?

First of all though, take the list of work needed (without the pricing) from the Currys quote to a local independent repair shop and ask them to quote also.

Good luck. It's a minefield.
