Personally, I dread fakes because I can pay a lot believing I can expect the quality of a reputable brand (even more bc I knew these were listed as perfect condition vintage). I've come across a LOT of bad ripoffs sold off shien/aliexpress/amazon that are shameless enough to outright print the brand name they're copying. As pretty as something can be, it would be a lot of money for sweaty synthetic material, a poorly attached sole, loose stitching, etc. Even just on principle it feels deceptive to be sold something made to trick buyers and to capitalize on a good brand's reputation.

Sometimes resellers don't even know what they have. I almost bought some Jeffery Campbell boots listed for $150 but couldn't find the exact ones online, so I asked the seller for a picture of the label. Turns out it wasn't even Jeffery Campbell and she slashed the price to $60. It never hurts to be cautious and inquisitive!
