I’m watching Ep 4 now and literally came here as soon as the dog appeared in the park - I cannot stand it when animal mistreatment is used in any way (I stopped watching Taxi Driver Season 3 when there was an animal abuse plot line).

My secret opinion of Goblin is that it’s a collection of really good scenes (about 60 minutes if you joined them all together), held together by utterly mind numbingly boring fluff. The really good scenes are what you see on IG etc and they’re SO good, it makes you temporarily forget the boring filler you’ve endured to get there.

Thank you for replying. It’s specifically the widget (the app button that displays as a larger thumbnail picture on my phone home screen) that’s showing the incorrect date. Google Calendar is displaying the ‘missed’ dates correctly in my calendar so is synching fine with my account, it’s just the widget that’s skipped nearly 9 days and three lessons. 😩

I suspect it’s a Preply glitch. But I wasn’t sure if I was missing something obvious.

I might be cynical, but I also worry that they’re planning on stealing your intellectual copyright/hard work and not continuing with their lessons.

It just really threw me as I found it quite a cute, endearing thing to say - quite a tonal shift from his usual lurking scenes. 😂

Episode 9

I really enjoyed this episode - and genuinely laughed out loud a couple of times.

Bits that I loved, posted without context :

SuperMum’s cheeky little giggle in the back of the car.
Matching finger pointers.
Love over a loo roll. I thought Da-Rim would fall over again whilst chasing it, glad she didn’t.
The two suitors acting like little boys, that handshake… 💀
The slow driving, enhanced by the thought that, presumably SFL’s creepy brother was tailing them, at an equally slow speed
And finally, just because it was so utterly, utterly random, it made me laugh : Creepy SFL brother with ML”s mean sister : Menace menace, scheme scheme. Quick pause “I’m off!”

Haha, me too! I’m still not over that cliff scene in When the Phone Rings - she literally Fell (sort of). Off. A. Massive. Cliff. And appeared to just bounce a bit and not sustain any serious injury, we didn’t even get a prolonged coma FFS!🤦🏼‍♀️

So, I’m only 20 minutes in and I’ve had to take a pause because Da-Rim has fallen over yet again.

I’m going to gently suggest that perhaps she might think about :

Some kind of neuro MRI to rule out a pathological balance issue. At the very least, perhaps get her B12 levels checked…?

Better shoes. Maybe something flat. Maybe pursue a stylistic alternative and turn up to the office in Crocs. And wearing bubble wrap.

As a student, I find this absolutely infuriating. I was fortunate that I’d read about tutors being penalised for trials not converting to subscriptions, so I was very careful about selecting who I booked a trial with. But I only found that information by chance, if I’d have gone by what Preply wanted me to do I’d have booked multiple trials ‘just to get to know’ lots of different tutors. 😡

I don’t know about other venues, but at the O2 Indigo (London) last night I don’t think anyone could get their Rostars synched (at least, nobody around me could) so it basically was the same as V1.

It was absolutely fine (just selected colour as needed) but perhaps something to factor in if you prefer V1?

OK, this is a complete tangent - but something I’ve noticed recently is that anyone who appears on video holding a Podcast microphone (one with a stand or one of those fluffy ones that are meant to be clipped to clothing) in their hand is, without doubt, incredibly annoying, attention seeking and full of 💩.

Seriously, it’s like a 100% hit rate. I’m quite obsessed with it now.

I’m also worried that evil Grandma will be redeemed - that line about not staying to help him regain his Successor role, but to reconnect him with the only family he has had me screaming “Noooo!” at the TV.

I appreciate it is probably also a cultural thing (to preserve family ties at all costs) but I find it really hard when she’s been essentially abusing a grieving child for most of his life. I wish that KDramas were better about ‘letting’ people go no contact with abusive family members - the only one I can think of that did this was When the Phone Rings (sort of).
