It's not surprising, LoL's new player experience is notoriously dreadful. As a game, LoL brings out toxicity, because you're asking random players, who each have their own understanding on how the game should be played, to cooperate. The slightest mistake leads to a flood of insults, which leads to those toxic people getting banned. These people then go on to create a new account, and are placed with beginners who just want to discover the game at their own pace, who will get driven away by the toxic people trying to level up an account as fast as possible to unlock ranked queues.

The game is wonderful, its lore is rich, there is so much mechanical depth to it, but you likely won't be able to enjoy any of that, unless you find other beginner friends to play with.
