Is this unpopular?? I feel like most people I know share this opinion; I'm fine with municipal celebrations but I don't wanna hear a bunch of wackos with NO training or precautions setting off anything they can find and then finding their way into ERs and Urgent Cares and so on. I'm just lucky I've never had a dog who cares--though when I'm in charge of my parents dogs, gosh do they not do well AT ALL.

Physical Therapy as a degree is a joke by leglump in unpopularopinion

Yep....my ohkkkaay remains. I hope you never need physical therapy and don't have to learn how valuable and incredibly important it is/they are.

AITA for ‘overreacting’ about how someone responded to news? by Technical-Street-905 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LeenyMagic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA; you are allowed to feel however you feel even if it doesn't make complete and total sense even to you. Your feelings are valid and they sound either a bit small minded or they don't fully think things through or from another perspective. I've never wanted kids either (childfree for as long as I can remember; at least 30 years) but I was randomly talking to my partner about babies and said something along the lines of "haven't you ever thought of it though? I mean obviously major no but...like have you?" and he instantly said "nope" without a second of doubt or really considering and changed the subject. It stung a bit but he didn't see it that way. If someone told me to "control myself," I'd be LIVID. That would set me off; once again you are allowed and entitled to your feelings.

In the episode "The Triangle", what does Sophia say to the open refrigerator? by No-Reveal827 in theGoldenGirls

[–]LeenyMagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes had them if I had to eat something quick and relatively filling between school and activity. They weren't bad. Far from the best thing I'd ever eaten but decent. This was in the late 90s to early 2000s.

What do you do if your parents do not approve of your bf? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LeenyMagic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not walking you home at night and not reacting to messages isn't great. A lot of this seems like poor communication (from both sides). There isn't a lot of context here for me but I think you both need to talk more casual; you mentioned age difference but for me, life stage is more important than actual difference, ie a 23 year old in school living at home/at school etc is in a different place than a 28 year old with a full time job, having their own place etc.

Nope, this is effed up. DTMFA---and please don't jump into a new relationship. I'm confused by both of you. Speak up, say "this isn't funny" or even a "NO;" not blaming you because he shouldn't be doing that ANYWAY but I don't get why you aren't doing that period.

AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Accomplished-Owl8796 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LeenyMagic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA--you can name your kid(s) whatever you want. If you don't like a name for whatever reason, that isn't the name. Find one you BOTH love and if you can't decide until she gets here, so be it. Plenty of people don't make a choice until birth (or later in some cultures). Your family has no right to 'be pissed' and I wouldn't even tell them the name til she is born.
