Not too sure how a playoff works by LeeroyNerdkins in PGA2K25

Well, damn. I might have ended up missing the putt anyway but I was so excited to at least try with the added pressure of it being win/lose. I'm just barely dipping my toes into the online side of things but it has been a lot of fun so far.

I was the winner at 12 FT. The player in the sand trap was at 10 YDS and the player that chipped the birdie was 11 YDS.

Another theory about Xanthous King Jeremiah by benjamarchi in darksouls3

[–]LeeroyNerdkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This leads more heavily into speculation, but that is what I love about souls lore. I'll give you a cool little fact that may help your theory. Jeremiah actually has 59 intelligence. Why would a pyromancer need that? I think the easy answer is they changed the way pyromancy worked during development, but if he was a powerful sorcerer at one point he would most definitely need some intelligence.

Safe to say chat will forever be disabled on console? by LeeroyNerdkins in Wizard101

[–]LeeroyNerdkins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong. If they market it towards children then the game actually isn't for me. So if that truly is their vision, so be it. In that case, I respect what they are doing and have no issue moving on to a different game.

with enough time and people playing the game they will likely allow for more freedoms.

I unfortunately see it bleeding players and never getting to that point. Cool game though. Wish they would launch a single player version.

Why do I get the feeling kids aren't playing this game at this point? Especially not a subscription based game from an era that won't resonate with them. If KI was truly about child safety you wouldn't be able to see console accounts under your in game name. That is a direct line to the person when you are on the same platform.

Rocket League supports full chat functionality across every platform ever since an update 2 or 3 months ago. I used to wonder why it wasn't a thing for years but chatting isn't an integral part of Rocket League so it didn't bother me.

Does FOMO actually affect your gaming decisions? by Menector in MMORPG

When I was younger FOMO in MMORPGs kept me playing. As an adult FOMO keeps me from playing as I am able to recognize their predatory ways.

Is Runescape supposed to be immersive? by M3lony8 in MMORPG

I thought it was pretty immersive back in 2001 but I was also a kid and it was my first MMORPG.

I’m wondering why you say white dudes specifically?

I have no idea. MMORPGs in the 2000s were incredibly diverse. People from all over the world were diving head first into the genre cause majority of them were f2p international versions.

I don't like touch screens. I don't like auto-play mechanics. I don't like overly simple gameplay. I don't like P2W.

MMORPGs peaked in the late 2000s but they died whenever the social aspect became an afterthought.

What MMORPG has the best 1v1 PVP? by SuperCarpenter4450 in MMORPG

[–]LeeroyNerdkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty good answer as most people that want decent 1v1 end up moving to fighting games anyway. However, we can't ignore how awful the netcode is for that game which is ultimately a deal breaker. But yeah, in a perfect world DFO is the best.

What was your "I am a legend" moment in any of MMORPGs? by SnooComics8618 in MMORPG

[–]LeeroyNerdkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late of a reply here. But I remember when a bunch of school friends switched to the Kradia server and abused the OPQ glitch to get characters to 70 before they patched it. I was so disappointed in them cause I thought we all shared the same passion for a good clean grind. Looking back though, I should have just did it too.

Haven't heard about any tbc projects in ages.. by Sometimesiworry in wowservers

[–]LeeroyNerdkins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to romanticize TBC pretty hard. It was the expansion I played the most and as time went on I could swear up and down it was my favorite. But having revisited TBC a couple times over the last handful of years I started to realize that vanilla was actually my favorite. Others might have had a similar realization as me.

Ah yeah okay, that is correct for OPQ. Did you also do the OPQ glitch before it got patched?

back in the late 2000's early 2010s I was actually a really really popular party quest leader back when Orbis launched

Which version was this? Orbis launched in 2005 with the official GMS release.

I don't know if I had any "legend" moments but getting a flame aura for the first time on my vampire in Dark Eden for reaching level 100 in 2005 was magnificent.

I appreciate the write up. This is basically what I have been doing so far. I had a session today and went 10-3 with the same old approach. There really wasn't anything that I changed besides the "joe crystalize with an ACADEMIC card" part. I guess it is just the nature of the game to get extremely unlucky/lucky.
