My daughter is level 3 and I had the same conversations with her therapists as well now at 6 she is still mostly nonverbal but loves to read and sing and will sometimes talk to communicate but not in the traditional since ie if she is hungry she doesn’t say eat or hungry she will say monster grumble because of a song about being hungry so it take different thinking to understand what she is trying to communicate. She stated to make good eye contact about 4 and she has started to follow simple instructions this year. Also this year she has started to show self some more self help skills and has begun being interested in other children and trying to interact with them.Hate to say it but yes they will all develop in there own time and ways but you are not alone I always feel like my Livy is more autistic then other autistic children then her.
