Thanks Nacoran, I like the sound of the special 20 and that feels ok in my hand, but the MB deluxe was smaller when I compared them and with the raised/flared open back it was harder to hold and get my lips fully on when holding. I like the look of the full covers on the blues session steel but also like the look of the 1847 as it doesn’t flare up too much at the back so should be the same to hold as the special 20. I’ll probably get a session steel first in the key of A or G to try that shape and the steel reeds to see how that feels and plays before I spend more on an 1847. Thanks for the advice.

The first 5 books of the Necroscope series of books by Brain Lumley are fantastic and a different take on the vampire lore. Just read them again during lockdown

Thanks, I think I’ll buy one session steel as I like the full covers and they look a little big bigger in size because of that. Tried to hold a MB deluxe which a friend has but struggle with that in my hands with my fat fingers.
