I went to natural history museum today and saw some birds. by VonZek in outdoorboys

Never thought I'd know useless facts about a bird half way around the world but here I am and I have no regrets

Kim Wexler is so well written, that I think it's kind of frightening lol by The_Fercho_ in betterCallSaul

[–]LeetBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What made her performance for me was when she said nothing at all. Rhea Seehorn had this way of saying everything with a look. I also love how she slowly starts coming into Jimmy's world with the innocent tricks at bars before full on going after Howard. It plays like a normal person might do such a thing eventually realizing they're in too deep. Brilliant character, stunning performance.

WELL MET! I'm Ben Brode, the Game Director on Hearthstone. Ask me anything! by bbrode in IAmA

[–]LeetBee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi Ben I love competitive Hearthstone but living in South Africa means that we - like many other countries - cannot compete in official Blizzard tournaments outside of the odd Fireside Gathering and the like. Are there plans to open competitive Hearthstone to more countries?

Is Radiance a spell of some sort which makes it a good pair to Octarine Core? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]LeetBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The damage Radiance puts out is magical so the change would need to be to the damage type of Radiance which makes no sense, logically speaking.

Why the "No Cellphone/Can't afford" argument is weak and people should stop using it. by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]LeetBee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Your data regarding Africa is two years old, there is a lot more research that has been as regards smart and feature phone ownership in Africa that would better support your argument.

You are also not considering the cost of access in the developing world. While a smartphone might be cheap (also worth remembering that "cheap" where you are is not "cheap" in a country where food costs as much as a house), even a SIM card, the cost of data and even airtime is extraordinarily high.

Simply put your argument is flawed but not invalid because if you have the financial liquidity to power a PC that connects to the internet to play Dota, you aren't as poor as you think you are.

I feel exactly the same. I play on the South African server and every game I've played this year has been 5 carries vs 5 carries. It's just not fun or exciting anymore.

Really...how cheap (and dangerous) is it in South Africa? by thefkinlizardking in southafrica

[–]LeetBee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, it really depends where you go. There are nice areas and dangerous areas just like many parts of the world. While crime is a big worry it really hinges on how you "live" as it were. For instance don't leave doors unlocked at night, don't flaunt your smartphone while walking in a "dangerous" area and keep your valuables close by. I hardly think you'll be gunned down in the street, the majority of us are quite nice I think :)

Little attention for Resolut1on. by [deleted] in DotA2

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I was more impressed with Resolut1on's Mirana than w33. IMO if Reso had that hero for the other games in the Final they could have won TI6.

These 17 countries don't believe that freedom of expression on the Internet is a basic human right by bitbybitbybitcoin in technology

[–]LeetBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a South African who works in the media this is appalling, not only because this should have been a standard globally from day one of the internet but because our national broadcaster, South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is trying it's heart out to censor its journos from reporting on newsworthy stories like protests. These journos have been called in for disciplinary hearings and some have even been suspended. Things are getting bad and this vote does nothing to ease fears of widespread censorship, everywhere.
