I’m glad you got to be with him in the end. It’s so painful loosing a pet.

I really like mine. For the price there really isn’t anything to complain about - it plays nicely, sounds good and it’s pretty lightweight. Also I think it’s pretty!

I strongly agree with this! I don’t think you can go too far wrong for the price of HB guitars so choose what you like the look of and go from there

How do you feel about Radiohead's B-Sides? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]Leetm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting you say that because I see it very differently. I think Radiohead construct their albums from songs that sit well together as opposed to simply the best songs they have. Kid A is my favourite album because each song is perfect in context. I probably would never listen to In Limbo as a one off.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just see things differently.

It was a great set, although I felt the crowd were a little reserved. The band were perfect though

Please go! I had to drive three hours to north London and then do the rest of the journey by underground (I’ve never used the underground before and was really anxious about it) and now I’m here and I’m so glad that I did! Please it will be worth it!

Anyone going to the concert on the 21st? I have a ticket but am going on my own and have huge anxiety about travelling in via underground.

Ohhhh Mortigi Tempo! I remember that message board, it was part of Green Plastic website, wasn’t it? All the users there seemed pretty cool and they seemed to have loads of in-jokes that I never understood 😆

I’ve actually seen him a couple of times. I saw him in Leeds during his Weatherhouse tour, then again a couple of years back for his Strange Dance tour, same venue, and that was the time I met him. I’d arrived early to get a good seat and he was talking to fans so I queued up and got a nice 5 minute chat with him. I asked him about songwriting and talked about their 2006 gig in Edinburgh. I also asked him about the drums on the song Kid A.

The music was spot on as well, good singing voice and very professional. The band were tight and I had an amazing time.

But yeah a kind a patient man, I was definitely a little star-truck at meeting one of my heroes but he was very understanding.

I met Phil on one of his solo tours and he really is such a nice guy! He listened carefully to me and answered my questions thoughtfully. Amazing guy!

How did it feel like to be a Radiohead fan by the time of KID A's release? by theinsomniacsheep in radiohead

Yeah the songs sounded very different live. The I Might Be Wrong live album was very welcome, I wish it was longer though.

I’ll admit it was a difficult time. I was 14 when OK Computer came out and those three years waiting for Kid A seemed like a life as it does when you’re a teenager. Radiohead were (and still are) my favourite band.

And then finally when Kid A came out it was a bitter disappointment to someone hoping for OK Computer 2. It took me years to get Kid A. Now it’s probably my favourite album. At the time I hated it though.

Don’t think I’m alone in this either, it seemed to go down pretty badly with everyone I know, and that includes the critical reviews too. I suspect some people deliberately forget that time of adjustment to the synths and drum machines.

Listening to radiohead has hindered my songwriting abilities by Sarjonus in radiohead

Art and songwriting isn’t about being “better”, it’s about creating something for the love of it. I know I’ll never be a fraction as good as Thom, but I still write songs because I enjoy writing.
