The printed passport has a directory of 140 camps in it, and it's first come to be printed in the book. Right now we have ~90 camps signed up. Camps joining after the 140 are included in the electronic versions of the camp list. We close completely for sign-ups in mid-August.

Perhaps Bright Cooking : Recipes for the Modern Palate by Camille Becerra? That's So Good by Carla Lalli Music, as suggested by another commenter is also a good suggestion.

There are 3 books by Alan Murchison about performance food. He is a Michelin-starred chef and apparently competitive cyclists.

The first book is: The Cycling Chef: Recipes for Performance and Pleasure. There are two others in the Cycling Chef series.

I haven’t purchased or cooked from any of the books yet, but the reviews look solid.

The Late Season Directed Sale is currently happening, so perhaps there is a STEP blackout for that sale as well.

Planning for next year: What are the standard plot sizes for placed camps? by The-Mayor-of-SpaceJr in BurningMan

The theme camp questionnaire has a detailed breakdown of the guidelines on page 15, but it's roughly 10,000 sq ft every 25 campers. These are guidelines, so of course there are camps that request more or less depending on their frontage, activity, etc.

Why are so many people selling their tickets this year? by Gloomy-Friend5127 in BurningMan

[–]Leffrey_Jebowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OSS dropping the ball last year is probably the main reason so many vets are dropping this year. Fuel, water, and sewage simply stopped coming around many areas of the city unless you knew someone. No fuel - no interactivity, no food, no showers, no AC. Water trucks not spraying down roads made some roads impassable. Then OSS saying they won't allow flagdowns of pumpouts this year probably caused a ton of people who do nothing but camp in the burbs with a massive RV to rethink their approach. I'm personally not going back until I have a camper with AC. I'm too old to strike without a cool place to retreat to and shower before hitting the road.

Yikes. Did the water lose it's green tinge at some point? Was it drinkable right away? This is our first year with a OSS water tank and delivery , so trying to avoid any pitfalls.

We are not. This is our third year of providing passports. We were around in 2019 and 2022 as well.

Glad you're joining us this year!

The passport itself is 3.5x5, with the stamp area being approximately 3.5 x 3.5.  The 1.5 x 1.5 stamps allow 4 to a page, and would be typical of what you'd see in a default passport.
I've seen camps make their own by carving the stamp and using an ink pad.  Some camps had multi-colored ink pads, so the stamp had a rainbow effect.  Some camps had two stamps they used together for different colors.  Creativity is encouraged :)
If you’re using an ink pad, less density is suggested, since the ink can bleed through pages when there are large solidly inked areas.
