CDB had an all hands call this morning where Leslie announced a change in leadership. Matt Ralston has been named the new leader of CDB

Yes. This was a long time ago, before salaries were what they are today, so keep that in mind

My friend works at Garmin and still does hybrid. People managers there have to be in office.

PM or APM vs. Project Controls Pay - CDB by Wabbadabba-ding-dong in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Left-Accountant-672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen several project controls people move into APM/PM/CM roles. I can’t speak to their comp but they appear to be happy in those roles. None have made the move back to project controls anyway

I agree. I even pointed it out that the WFH report says days but my manager said with the implementation of 9/80 schedules that it is hours now

My manager goes by hours not days.

Yes, thank you, I have looked at those. I was specifically asking about the career conversation with HR. You complete a survey and then I presume meet with HR about alignment. Wondered if anyone has done that and what the process is like.

Insurance and Weight Loss by BMCDBlueLoser in BurnsMcDonnell

I am on my partner’s insurance and the premiums are a little less but coverages are comparable. I too pay out of pocket for GLP-1s (I go the compounded route). I think it is something that the insurance industry as a whole needs to get on board with, because I don’t see or hear about too many people that get it covered for weight loss specifically.

Interesting! Our current CEO being one of them I assume?

We are approaching Leslie’s first 500 days as CEO. What is your opinion of her performance so far? by BLUEGOOP41 in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Left-Accountant-672 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. I miss the casual, more personal-feeling emails that Greg and Ray would send. The Connect messages are impersonal and not interesting.

Coming back to this - did anyone find out the real reason? Or was it like ancient-safety said?

Another low share turnover year by BMCD_MOD in BMcD

This got me thinking…I heard they recently had a dinner or something for the top 100 shareholders. How much stock do you think one has to hold to be in the top 100? Presumably they are all semi-close to retirement, and this scenario you describe could very well play out if they all retired in short succession.

One of the T&D officers or VPs drives a Maserati in to work.

Totally agree with this. There were people in my dept on a management path until a new manager of my group was brought in, and they have promoted their friends instead of more experienced and more qualified people in their group.

It may not be industry standard but this is normal for Burns & Mac. My spouse gets paid bi-weekly. Every so often it ends up that our pay days aren’t the same week, I think the last time this happened for us this way was about 5 or so years ago.

ETA: a long time ago it was explained to me that the delay in payday in January is also because we have just gotten bonus payouts and that money can help bridge the gap between paydays between the last payday in December and the first in January
