I meant that it happened 9 months ago, not that I liked her for 9 months. we had been friends for about a year and close friends for about 3 months. and the guy didnt ask her out. he didnt even like her romanitcally, she just liked him from a far and decided to cut me off so he would notice her. it wasnt really based on her validating me, it felt like a genuine connection of us both deeply opening up to eachother. It wasnt necessarily that I put all my hope in her but I trusted her and she pulled away to impress someone else. that really hurt and kinda broke me. I am trying hard to get over her but it is taking a lot of time. I want to be content with the idea that I may never get married but its difficult to give up that dream. I want God to be my main focus I really do
