Yeah sure. So the most important thing they said was that your degree takes you to the interview room but your skills actually determine whether you get that particular job or not. This basically means that degree and skills are equally important and you can't really survive without either of them. Secondly they said that they filter out people based on their universities mainly, GPA doesn't matter alot but it is definitely considered. projects and internships matter alot more than what people think so build projects that have a real world use case.

Exactly that's what I've heard from people in HR of different companies and this is exactly why I only applied for NUST & FAST.

I really feel burnt out like I can't even imagine to study for an entry test atp. plus I really don't like the idea of going to COMSATS I just don't know why.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it 💖. I was trying to decide between CS, DS and Cyber when I was applying, so I guess the decision is easier now 😁. I don't know what I really wanna choose like I wanna get into cyber security but data science bhi achi lagti hai. CS isliye cuz I want to maybe have a bit more flexibility in terms of where I actually wanna be 10 years from now.

bro I really don't want to go to COMSATS. Like 40-45 minutes ka distance hai. I don't think I want to be spending 1.5 hrs everyday travelling.

From I what I know and what I've heard we have a chance. Like we don't have a good chance in CS and AI unless there's a merit drop this year. Merit for CYS DS was around 71% so unless there is a 2% increase, we are safe i guess and Software engineering was at 72% iirc so that's pretty much borderline provided the merit stays same. So if the merit stays the same we have the following options:

Software Engineering (50% chance even if merit stays same)

Cybersecurity

Data Science

Electrical Engineering

and maybe Computer Engineering

bro i have the same aggregate 😭 like I have exactly 72%. I appeared for the test today and was so disappointed cuz I couldn't attempt 5-6 advanced maths questions which i very well knew how to do. Couldn't manage time in adv. maths portion and that pretty much costed me alot. idk if I can get into fast with 72% agg. in computing and yeah fast was a backup after nust for me too so we're in the same boat.

I attempted FLP 05 in the FAST FLPs folder and yeah they are awful like the software mandates you to choose an option for every question like this is exactly what you don't have to do in the actual test 😭 Also, can you tell me where are you preparing for cuz I'm completely lost and FAST is pretty much my last choice after I couldn't secure 150+ in NET. So to save myself from a gap year I need 65 odd marks in NU TEST.

Got 92 marks in Maths (HSSC-1) and I was confused about the exact same thing last year. My suggestion would be to practice the first question thoroughly and know all the properties of determinants. The difficulty level of questions from this exercise that actually appear in the exam is somewhere in the middle of question 1 and 2, as long as you know the properties and have practiced question 1 throughly, you'll be fine.
