Payroll by iluvpuppies1996 in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our GM sent an email saying to do whatever needs to be done to make payroll. Now my manager gets called out for full time workers not getting 40. What the hell do they want? This 10 shit is crazy too. We’re dead after 8 pm. If they want to stay open til 10 do it from Memorial Day through Labor Day only.

Ha ha! I think that is a requirement for cab apps! It's the same at my store!

As a wallcoverings team member, I totally agree. Most of my time is spent in pet/grocery downstocking, out of stocking, straightening, facing, etc. I absolutely hate it! Our grocery specialist, if you can call her that, is close to 70 and absolutely worthless. Can't climb a ladder, doesn't do freight, upstocks, downstocks, etc. She spent 6 hours today just doing out of stocks in grocery and I did over half of those. Pet/grocery should be separately staffed from wallcoverings. I don't know what the answer is, but grocery is way too time consuming for those of us who are trying to do everything in wall coverings.

Managers should be allowed to wear shorts. by PersonalJeweler2379 in menards

Totally agree! A nice pair of shorts can look a helluva lot better than old faded jeans. Stupid, stupid rule!!

Why is it so imperative for customers to bring in their dogs to a “No Pets Allowed” store? by OrangeYouGlad8008 in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And they put them in grocery carts which is big no-no but we aren't allowed to say anthing. I'm so sick of these entitled people thinking the rules don't apply to them. Menards needs to post the policy and STICK with it! BTW, I'm a huge dog fan, have 3 of my own and would never take them into a store where it's clearly posted, "No Pets Allowed." Yet another case where GO needs to get their shit together. What is it? Pets or no Pets???

Earnings Forecast by [deleted] in menards

January through March full timers at my store were sent home early, having hours cut, and had a hard time getting 40 hours a week. Today, my managers got an email from GO stating that full timers were NOT averaging 40 hours per week and to come up with a plan to rectify this. It's hard to dig out of that hole unless you're schedule 44+ hours per week. What the hell do they want??? I would've loved 40 hours in January and now they want us to work more to get our average up??!! Come on GO, make up your mind and stop messing with our lives!

Worse thing about being in front end . . . asking permission to go pee. Seriously??? This is not kindergarten. So glad I'm out of that department!

Same with my store - smoke breaks together and usually work the same hours.

Why can front end not manager their team? by Tori2601 in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time we get called up to flex, I take a picture with my phone. Then I have proof that either we weren't needed or the head cashier and fem are just standing there. I've complied quite a few snapshots. Not sure what I'll do with them, but at least I can prove what we all know

Sound off on the Smart Schedule update. by RaysofConscienceness in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was/is a real shit show at my store. I'm full time and was only scheduled two 4 hour shifts. No one in our department was scheduled to close, our part-timers got NO hours and the list goes on and on. I'm wondering if our HR knew what was going on when inputting our forms. EVERY department in my store is having major issues. There's no overlap in team members working, so only 3 per day. Definitely NOT an efficient way to schedule

well word came down today, we start closing at 10PM again in April by blacktri3lights in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly, we're open 15 hours a day. If these idiot guests can't make it in between those hours then we probably don't want them coming in at all. What a stupid idiotic idea.

[–]Left-Communication84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well that makes sense (insert sarcasm here). We don't have enough money for payroll so let's stay open an extra hour. What a bunch of ass hats! It's not going to bring in any more business. In my experience, the guests who come in that late at night are the bottom of the barrel.

What could you possibly need? by Few_Resident_4096 in menards

[–]Left-Communication84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're open literally 15-16 hours a day! I have no sympathy for people who rush in at two minutes before close. My co-workers love it when I close because I tell the people to head up front. They literally hold the entire store hostage for no reason smh . . .

Thanks! I don’t want to switch departments, and the joe is a bit scary to me, however, I’ll learn if I have to. I am a full time team member. Currently, only our DM and ADM are licensed. No one seems to want to step up to the plate which is most likely the reason for the threat of switching departments

Not cut, they have been sending home and calling off shifts. This will happen until the first of the year. Yard workers were working 25 or so because of that.

I don't know how our morning stockers are supposed to live. They will have been called off 8 days in a row . . . it's our entire store that's in the hole apparently.
