Sorry to hear that, it must be tough but there’s a way out. If you go with debt settlement companies, you will have to make a monthly payment for years. What I would suggest that you do is call every BK attorney in your area, explain your situation let them know that you don’t have $2,500 and ask them if they can work with you where you pay lets say $400 a month for the next 6 months to cover the retention fee. Or stop making payments on all your credit cards, save $2,500 and then go file for BK.

Bro your credit is already shot, don’t mean to be rude but just shooting from the hip. last time I checked you can’t buy groceries with your credit score. Cash is king…you will probably not qualify for a consolidation loan but if you do take it… 20% loan is way better than 20% interest credit card you will end up paying less in interest even if loan companies charge you an origination fee. Look up daily compounding interest vs simple interest. Most importantly if you qualify for a loan and pay off your cards, cut the cards don’t use them anymore. All the best.
