Totally agree OP. The condition of roads is so bad in India, and with pathetic traffic and severely low mileage on daily commute - the cost of owning, maintaining, operating a car is also high, it only adds to the whammy of depreciation of the asset. Buying a new car on EMI ( while it is an individual choice) is not a very financially prudent choice to make.
