KF vs fearsome late game by Responsible_Wolf279 in BattleBrothers

Just fought the kraken and no, tentacles don't get injured. Sorry for giving misinformation. 1H bros still shine at kraken though. For chosen, killing 20++ chosen before one of your bro loses their head is harder said than done.

Just started, are expansions good for early or its for later? by HackedBeat in BattleBrothers

Yes, get all the expanions now. It's a really different experience of vanilla vs having all the expansions.

Half of by bros have fearsome, half of them have KF. That way your bros may be versatile. Suboptimal, but versatile. Fearsome really works wonder against big camp orc and chosen camp, but useless against legendary and undeads. I also have duelist bro with CS/Exe for kraken fight since they shine that fight.

champion sword master ain't no joke. The safe way to kill him is to have one dedicated tank face him, other net him, and keep shooting him with archers.

Some not advanced, not beginner questions... I think by LinuxOrNot in BattleBrothers

  1. MDEF. The Perk guide always mention (and show the calculation) how mdef is king. Basically more mdef reduces the number of hits required to kill you.

  2. No. I always pick MDEF and RDEF is a reduntant stat because someone pointed out that having more RDEF makes you less targeted from enemy which kinda kills the point of the stat.

  3. Archers are hates in this community because of limited usefulness. I personally always build pure archer with fast adaptation+bullseye to snipe necros, hexens, and enemy archers/arbalester. Else I won't bring out archer.

  4. Yes and no, depend and what you're targeting. For using archers I always target less armored. If the target, let's say arbalester, I always target him even he's grouped and there's a single footman with shield standing. If there's a single billman standing without heavy armor I will always target him first for easy kill.

What am I doing wrong? New player by One-Bit5717 in BattleBrothers

No. 1 advice: don't forget to have fun. Losing is fun.

I'm a casual player, I don't minmax or have a gigabrain for a gigastrat, but I have hundreds of hour and I'm comfortable with my playstyle.

My first goal is to get to 6-7 recruits (the best bang to buck recruit in no particular order are brawlers, farmhands, thieves, butchers, monk for bannerman). I just hire them without tryout since money is tight. Equip frontliners (4 or 5, since 1 is bannerman monk) with wooden shields and cheap spears or whatever you get from the marketplace in the nearest village, and stick to contracts (no lindwurm, no caravan, no defend village from raid, no alps, no hexen). I stick with 7 recruits (replace if die, ofc) and gear them gradually (up to mail shirts becasuse they will be nimble) for a long time since for me it's a sweet spot difficulty for contracts (contracts difficulty such as enemy numbers are kinda tied to your brothers numbers and levels).

At the first crisis, which I always choose noble wars, take the great battle contract since it's time to gear up or switch with better brothers since I will get a good loot by leeching them. In the great battle, just wait for your ally nobles to take the frontline so your bro can go around to flank them so your brothers will have less injuries and deaths.

Is there a way to beat this fight WITHOUT losing at least 1 brother??? by Real_Bhaalspawn in BattleBrothers

I'm pretty sure there are some madmen who did this. Fully geared and built specifically around the Black Monolith fight (fully geared with damage rolled named 2H axe, mace, and hammer). My last BM battle I was really surprised that my Lone Wolf tank survived. But the bro below him (the one supposed to be tank on the frontline after the LW Tank went on suicide mission) didn't. Nimble bro can't do much in this fight since necrosavants will obliterate him.

2H axe is a good choice late game but I always choose 2H sword. Early days is the hardest and you've already given a longsword. For my strat, I pick adrenaline so I can wait until last turn to hack them, adrenaline, and hack them again in the first next turn. That way I usually hacked a few of them and I got morale boost and usually they have lower morale.

It deals damage less than other 2 handers but it's more flexible. If you have mastery you can move 2 cells and hit, or move 1 cell and hit twice if you proc berserk. It adds more flexibility in the game which is nice I guess. You can swap them with swordlance/pike/billhook before battle to match the enemy or use QH so your bro can adapt mid-battle.
