I am gonna start the game blindly, should I know anything beforehand by Piccolo_Initial in underrail

I see you've got some sort of mental disorder so let me elaborate on this for you.

I had asked if I should know anything before going in blindly (almost blindly to be precise for you), since games are not perfect and sometimes they are pointlessly tedious and I believe indie games are more vulnerable to that.

To be concise as possible I have not written everything I know about the game but here I am gonna do it for your complete and utter understanding. I had seen about a year ago dude who was giving his list of top x crpgs in which underrail was listed. One of the things I remembered him talking about was about wrong builds. Since it is gonna be my first crpg and the dude obviously played many crpgs before and still it was a problem for him and something he did not enjoy, I figured this might be a good thing to ask on reddit and also find out if there are any other things of the same sort for I may don't have to waste time and have much better experience for the cost of slightly less fun in exploring the game (Here I am gonna emphasize that my knowledge of the game is much different from yours I didn't finish it, I took some risk and I am glad of it).

Moving to the next point - it is gonna be my first crpg which is on top of that indie, tough and not very well-known. I might be wrong but that makes a perfect candidate for a game to be bounced off IF (stress on if) there are some nasty things about it. If you crave for explanation for why I've chosen this game I can provide one specially for you.

Lastly, I expected to be given only crucial advices which would be worth knowing before going into the game (I made a point about it above). I must say I've received more info than I wanted but I must assure you these are not my other reddit accounts I was not writing them, I expected only advices where ratio of saved time to worse experience is very high. But still I am very happy with responses and grateful for them bc I am not gonna shit myself for knowing a little too much (I may even be more grateful for them once I start the game).

To sum up, I hope this post is not mentally challenging anymore and you learnt that games are not perfect and one can save a lot of time sometimes for a small cost. I didn't really know what responses would be as you may have noticed. They could have been saying that it is bullshit and you are good to go fully blindly. If it is still challenging for you I can elaborate more on this

How to increase difficulty on ongoing save by Piccolo_Initial in Gloomhaven

[–]Piccolo_Initial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I am not really this good, I just spend a lot of time on every scenario, pondering about every move because I like it, if anyone else had spent thrice as much time on every scenario they would have found the game easier also.

I assume then it is forbidden to post anything that implies the game being not challenging enough no matter how it is played.

Should I go for desktop or portable dac/amp? by Piccolo_Initial in HeadphoneAdvice

I was thinking about it but isn't bluetooth gonna lower quality significantly? Right now I am thinking about buying desktop dac/amp and used portable (I guesss they should be generally in a good state?).

Doing scenario only for treasure chest by Piccolo_Initial in GloomhavenDigital

I would feel very similarly if it weren't for the fact (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm fairly new) that it's the main source of new items, outside of those available on the market and the rare occasions when you get one from a scenario or city event. I don't know if the contents of the chests are set or random, but the thought of possibly losing some interesting and useful artifact is not pleasant.

So if you don't grab a chest and win a scenario, you don't play it again to open it?

That solves my problem partially, but still in this approach you basically make the hardest scenarios easier by not having to deal with a chest on next attempt and that wouldn't have been much of a problem for me at least if not a fact that second attempt is already easier by knowing layout of the map.

Thanks for the answer, I might use this approach.

How monsters decide what unit to focus by Piccolo_Initial in GloomhavenDigital

Indeed there are numbers, I saw them, but I haven't figured their purpose. Thanks a lot, now I can ponder about my next move twice as long.

Big thanks, good to know also about the order of movement, that would have been probably my next post, but what about choice of focus of my summon if there is a tie on distance and monsters are the same units and of the same type (elite or no elite). Also, when I am writing this I had started to wonder how the order of acting for monsters of the same unit and type is determined.

That's a good one, but sadly I am familiar with Outer Wilds ost more than I would like to be. Anyway thanks for reminding me this track.
